Where to locals go for a burger. So I hear rumors the west-side location has some faults, but I have never been there so I don’t know. However, I’ve always enjoyed my visits to the east-side location. The restaurant is in an older building and obviously has not been renovated in some time, but the place is clean and they have a nice fire pit in the middle which makes a pleasant atmosphere. One orders at the counter and waits for your number to be called and picks up the food near the location one ordered. At the end one buses their own table and drops the dishes off to a window near the exit.Service is at times wonderful and others okay. It really depends on who you have at the counter, but I’ve never had someone rude or annoyed that I’m taking their time, which sadly is becoming a common theme at restaurants. Now to the good part. The burgers are pretty tasty. Do not go to this place if you’re expecting a burger to be ready in five minutes as they actually cook the burger when ordered. Also, unless you’ve a big appetite, likely you could spilt a burger and the fries with someone else because the helpings are huge. A lot of places quantity replaces quality, but I find the food very tasty with numerous types of burgers to choose from.I’ve also had breakfast here once. It was nothing amazing, but a good solid breakfast.
Horrible service from the help. Extremely rude counter person (heavy set red haired girl) and then got the order wrong after having to put up with her attitude. When I told her the food came wrong she actually just stared at me and shrugged her shoulders!!! $30 for 2 sandwiches and one kids sandwich is a lot to pay when there’s attitude with it.
We have a hard time paying for burgers anywhere when the ones we make at home are so much better but Pilot Butte is one of VERY few exceptions and they’re absolutely worth the price. The fries are amazing and their breakfast was one of the best we’ve had too. We go here every time we’re in Bend. Absolutely worth it.
Great burgers, country fried steak, shakes and fries. The French dip was disappointing however (small compared to what everyone else had and bland).
Surprisingly good breakfast. We used to frequent PBDI years ago under the old owners. Things seemed to take a turn for the worse after the sale and we haven’t been back in eons. Tried it this morning for breakfast and it was a pleasant surprise. We had a half order of french toast, huevos rancheros, and a couple cups of coffee. Coffee was decent, nothing to write home about but better than totally industrial swill. The food was the real surprise. It wasn’t trendy chic in any way, shape or form, just solidly well done. It’s hard to find a decent breakfast in town at a decent price; it’s either decent food and swill coffee, or decent coffee/food, but priced outside of a blue collar budget. This is a nice tweener. We’ll be back.
Huge Burgers. Our grandsons and daughter love the Eastside location. We live on the Westside so we had burgers at the new place when it opened. Definitely NOT as good as the Eastside location. Maybe we should have waited until the help got a routine going. Service was slow, and the burgers were dry. On the Eastside, the shakes are wonderful, garlic fries are huge, and everything we’ve had there is really tasty. Just not very affordable. It cost $100 for 6 of us to eat at the Eastside location.
Horrid And Overpriced!. Overpriced, cheaply made, horrid guacamole, $12.70 taco salad that was worse than Taco Bell and contained no meat and about 1/4 cup of a bad chilli. Never again! Save your money and go to a real restaurant or even a Carl’s JR! 3 hamburgers, taco salad, hoagie sandwich, 1 pepsi and 2 small orders of fries $57!
