Three nights in Bend and I somehow managed to visit this bakery twice. On my first visit early on a rainy Sunday morning, I got a an almond croissant and their famous ocean roll that we ate in our motel room. Both were generously sized, fresh and sugarific. The following morning we decided were running a little later and decided to dine in. Fortunately we scored a table because shortly thereafter there was a line out the door and all tables, inside and on the outside patio, were taken. We both chose scones which were very large and contained a lot of fruit, but mine was a marionberry which must have been leftover from the prior day because it was dry as a bone. My wife’s apple was fresh and delicious.
NW Crossing Location is Awful. The new location for Sparrow Bakery in Northwest Crossing is too noisy: All hard surfaces and echoes. Went for breakfast yesterday morning to find the most bitter coffee imaginable, unbelievable noise from the dozen or so customers inside and the morning quiche I ordered practically inedible: It was an unflavored egg pudding in a watery crust.I won’t be returning.
