It was average, now it’s tainted. Usually the food I get from here is of average quality for Chinese food. It is not the best and in my opinion I can get better Chinese food from Safeway grocery store. I was really in the mood for some Chinese the other night and didn’t want to go out. I ordered from Szechuan. The food arrived quick but was old and rancid. The beef in my beef and broccoli was stringy, dried up and had a very off flavor. If it wasn’t rancid it was very close and had been left in the heat long enough to shrink it. The BBQ Pork was the only thing I ate of my combo meal. The chicken in my Szechuan chicken was the same as the beef was in the beef and broccoli. The chicken was also dried up and shrank but was not on the verge of being rancid, it had just been left in the heat too long. Or in Culinary terms because I am a Culinary School Graduate, had strong evidence of being stored, heated, and/or cooled improperly. All the other stuff I could deal with but the beef and broccoli was beyond bad which is why I am writing this review right now. I am in the mood for some Chinese food right now and I don’t want to go out, but rather than order from Szechuan and risk getting a food borne illness, I am going to get off my butt and go pick some up from Safeway. It’s better and I will get more for my money. And I know I won’t have to throw half of it out because if there is a question I can always taste it first. Szechuan owners, you need to step up your game and start offering a better product because people might stand for average food but not tainted food.
