Cool Bend coffee hangout. Plenty of these in downtown Bend, but this is a favorite of the locals. Ambience is rustic and quaint. Americano I got wasn’t great, but still a good place to go when avoiding SBUX.
Great atmosphere. And amazing coffee!
Peet’s No More. Fine, I love Thump. I’m not going anywhere else in town, regardless of how convenicent, or inconvenient it is for me to go there. My latest desire is the 12oz, 4 shot breve latte. A pretty decadent drink, I realize that – but wow, it’s unbelievable. They really take the time to make sure that the expresso they are pressing is the best that can be. Many a time, there’s a long line and they are testing the shots and if they aren’t good enough, out they go. You may think this adds to the wait, but in reality, the extra thirty seconds it took them to determine that my coffee wasn’t good enough is more than good enough for me.
Tasty Coffee, Great Atmosphere. I was introduced to Machiatos (spelling?) during one of their Trad Cap Happy Hours – Pretty tasty. Knowledgable Baristas, and a chill place to hang while surfing the web w/ a cup.
My new Peet’s. I love Thump. After being a disciple of Peet’s for over 20 years, I moved to Bend and had to find another source. Thump has met the challenge. Great coffee and service.
Coffee done wrong. … Shipped by mail beans. Not fresh. Um, what is great about this place? Unfriendly staff, grungy dim lit and a bit on the dirty side. They are riding on the coat tails of stump town, but that can only go so far. Sorry, I was not impressed.
Coffee done right. Thump has great coffee, using Stumptown beans, yummy goodies to snack on and a revolving display of art. My husband and I make this a required stop when we visit Bend. Try the Spicy Mayan Mocha – different and delish!
