This was a wonderful surprise. Visiting Bend. Looking for something good after a round of golf. Didnt look that promising from the outside, but its actually very nice inside. Had excellent service. It was happy hour and the menu was great. Had shrimp tempura for $4. Veggie tempura for $4. California crunch roll $6. Phillie roll $6. Tempura was some of the best Ive had. Rolls were very good. The hot tea tasted like genmaicha – delicious.
Poor Service and Even Worse Response. Tonight we thought it would be nice to pick up sushi from our local establishment. My wife had to pick up my son from soccer so I went to Tomo and ordered three rolls. I sat and waited for 50 minutes for THREE ROLLS. I was pretty frustrated that I paid for the sushi up front and had to wait so long. When I got home, I decided to call and voice my frustration to the Manager. He let me know that it is their policy that dine in customers get their food first over take out customers. I let him know that I paid the full price for the food and I failed to see why I should get poor service just because I wanted to take it home to my family. He replied that they don’t give poor service. I let him know that making a paying customer wait for 50 minutes while other customers got served in front of him WAS bad service. At that point, I let him know I would not return. He said ok, have a nice night. It was the worst service I had ever received from a restaurant.
Mediocre sushi at best. Husband liked the ramen noodle bowl but the sushi was slightly better than the supermarket, with small pieces of fish. The prices were not proportionate to the size of fish either. I’d pay the $1-$2 per plate price difference for the better quality sushi at some of the higher end places in town.
