Not impressed. First of all I have never been to a Thai restaurant that did not have fresh salad rolls. That is a staple along with pad Thai. The waiter told us they did not have them today, that made us a bit confused if we were really at a Thai place. My huband had red curry and it was not authentic tasting lacking spices. I had pad Thai that was good just a little dry. Overall the food was okay, the service was pretty horrible…we came for lunch and the place was packed but only one waiter for each side of the room and our visit turned into over an hour stay. This is not ideal for someone who needs to return back to work.
Excellent and Tasty!. We had a great lunch at Toomies! The $6 lunch special was absolutely perfect. The portion is great for what you pay, and all of the flavors made the perfect quick lunch. The staff is very attentive also! I highly recommend going to Toomies for GREAT, EXCELLENT, TASTY, AUTHENTIC Thai!
Enjoyed a very very very tasty meal there with my husband and daughter last night. Great food great service and nice atmosphere. Many thanks to the cook(s) and staff. If I ever visit Bend again this place will be the first I come back to
We went to Toomies because our first choice of restaurant for dinner had a 30 minute wait. We were seated quickly and our waiter came over shortly to ask for our drink order. Then he came and took our meal order. A normal amount of time passed and our appetizer shows up. We had the spring rolls and they were good. Then we waited….and at this point we were the table that’s been at the this particular section the longest. 5 other tables were occupied after us so a total of 6 filled tables in our section. We see food being delivered to a couple who came in when we were eating our appetizers, then the couple who came in after them got their food! All this time I was trying to get our waiter’s attention and he never looked our way. Then he made eye contact but always disappeared into the kitchen or to help another table. Not once did he come over to apologize or to tell us that he’ll check on our food. About 45 minutes had passed since our order was taken and my husband was willing to wait it out because he thought ours would be the next food to come out. He was wrong! The table next to ours who were seated just 5 minutes ago got their appetizers. That’s when we had enough!! We walked out and our waiter came to us and really didn’t say anything. No explanation. Nothing!! I told him that we waited as long as we could but it became ridiculous when others who came in after us started getting their food. I told him I was not going to pay for the appetizer. That was enough food to get us by until we found another restaurant to eat at.He didn’t even fight it. I will never go back to this restaurant and will tell anyone who plans on going to Bend to go to another Thai restaurant. Looking back, that 30 minute wait at Barrio’s didn’t seem so bad.
Good food, horrible service. This is the second time we’ve dined at Toomies. No complaints about the food. The waiter was slow to take our order. Our table was never cleared. Six other tables were left with dirty dishes after the diners left. I didn’t expect for our table to be cleared. It wasn’t. I waited for ten minutes after we were given the bill for it to be taken. (We paid by credit card.) The first time we ate here there were 14 of us at two tables. The service was slow then as well, but I just figured we had too many people. That time we had young children with us and it was hard for them. I think I will look for a different thai place, or plan for a long wait with good food.
Love the spot. Great people watching. Always great food and service. My fav dish is the yellow curry. Consistent flavor, could eat everyday of my life. Have had other dishes but always go back to the yellow curry. Will be back soon.
Make sure you get a thai iced tea. Omg. Sooooo yummy!
