Huge, and I mean huge portions. Had the Ultimate, and no surprise wasn’t able to finish it, not because it wasn’t great, just was so much of it. They seemed puzzled that I didn’t want a to go box, which pretty much everyone else did, but really didn’t want to bring it back to the refrigerator at the hotel.Great family owned restaurant, service was good and efficient. They can get serve a lot of people quickly with good homestyle cooking. Glad I stopped by for breakfast, as wasn’t hungry for lunch.

I really wanted to like this place and I’ll list the good things first. The staff is really nice and provide good service. The good portions are large and taste fine. The coffee was pretty weak but the prices are decent. If I was a college student I’d probably go here often. The downsides. The food is really unappealing visually. (See garlic steak photo) We got a side of avocado that was partially rotten. The hash browns were really bland. And, as I said, the coffee was really weak. The place is really not visually nice but overall clean. The coffee cups on the tables are coffee stained showing that there is not a lot of attention to detail. These things in combination led to my not like rating. It does make me worry about other items that might not get much attention like the kitchen. Oh well. It seems like a lot of people like this place so I’m sure they’ll be around for a while. They just won’t see me in there again.
The BEST!!!!. GJ’s is hands down the absolute best breakfast place in town. HUGE and I do mean huge portions, they are always busy and once you eat there you’ll k now why, very fast service and the owners are always there busting their butts with the rest of their staff. Great family owned business. I have never had anything there that did not taste fresh and flavorful. Huge omelettes, the best biscuits and gravy around. They also deliver some of the best customer service you will ever receive in Eugene. Reasonably priced and again, the portions are HUGE and the flavors/choices are excellente’. Love going to GJ’s to eat. Their coffee is pretty darn good too!
This is the place. Best breakfast anywhere in Eugene area hands down! Best chicken fried steak and eggs. Big portions great food ! But that’s just a small part . This place is operated by a husband and wife . And boy do they operate, she takes every order and always gets it right ! Amazing ! And there staff are all very nice. Eat here eat here eat here!
