Absolutely. I will absolutely go back. The food was absolutely delicious. Yes. My only disappointment was in the very beginning: the mimosa, which is a MUST on my birthday. It was very weak, mostly juice. Very little sparkle = very sad me. The rest of the experience was fantastic. We got the hot garlic shrimp, which was not only beautiful, but it was perfectly good. The shrimp was cooked just right, with that nice, tendercrunch as you bite through. My boyfriend and I also split the creamy corn croquettes. Wow! Those were surprising. Gooey goodness with bchamel cheesy corn on the inside, fragile crunch outside. Just wonderful. And then we split a burger that was on an English muffin. I would have never chosen the English muffin, but it was very good. The burger was amazing. With each bite, juice GUSHED out of the sandwich. It was crazy-good. I can’t wait to go back! I just won’t get a mimosa.
New favorite restaurant in Eugene! Ordered so many things on the menu- everything looked good- and it was still affordable. It’s a little loud but otherwise the ambiance was nice. The food was AMAZING!
Good not great. Meiji is as good as most of the Izakayas I have eaten at in Portland but Beaverton and Hillsboro have it beat (it is not even close). So if you have not lived in Japan, if you have not eaten at Yuzu or Syun then this place is great! If you have, it is good enough to help cure those cravings until you get a chance to go back for the real deal.
Quality food at a reasonable price. Meiji Company serves good, quality, Japanese food at a fair price. The portions are akin to the price, but who needs to over-eat anyway? I enjoyed their special of the night, a deep-fried red snapper for 7 bucks. I also had one of their delectable little salads, this one (name eludes me) consisting of tasty seaweed and other veggies. Very good! I would definitely recommend Izakaya Meiji Company.
AWESOME. Loved this place! Totally quaint and classy, yet still that good ol’ bar-feel. There are walls of whiskey from all around the world, my boyfriend loved that. I enjoyed their housemade gingerade and bourbon… The food is reasonably priced, and delicious as well. I had gyoza and a miso egg with rice… All very cheap, $6 for the gyoza, $1 for a bowl of rice… You can NOT go wrong at this place. Also loved the bartender and the crowd at this place, very upbeat and cheery atmosphere. Will be back!
Too LOUD! Server had to yell to be heard. He still messed up two of the orders. None of the food came out together, so some people were finished eating while others hadn’t even been served yet. The food was good but they really need to get their act together.
Great variety for those lactose intolerant.
