This was our first visit and definately our last when we walked in the smell inside was nauseating so we chose to sit outside. I ordered the 12 pc Frank’s Hot was disappointed when the sauce came out on the side. The wings varied to being very fatty to very dry . Was unable to finish my meal and spent the rest of my night feeling unwell.
Wings are in my blood. I have been eating them almost since the day I got teeth. After leaving Buffalo in 1992 I originally had a very hard time finding decent wings on the west coast so I started making my own sauces. Sauce is king when talking about good wings. Toxic offers several and we tried four of them; Frank’s medium, Frank’s hot, honey siracha, and toxic (their hottest). I also ordered a couple sliders. The sliders were good. I really enjoyed them. The wings… Not so much. The wings themselves are smoked. They are dry and the meat is almost shriveled on the bone. But since the wings are merely sauce delivery mechanisms perhaps all will be saved. The wings are not sauced so you have to dip or pour to get it on the wing. The Frank’s medium is the Frank’s wing sauce from the store and the Frank’s hot is just Frank’s hot sauce. I assumed they would use the Frank’s as the base and make it their own. The honey siracha was too sweet for my liking and the toxic was not very hot. Overall I give them a C- in the wing department. Passing, but just barely.
Amazing wings, delicious chili fries, great service, tons of sauce options.Let me tell you about those wings though, stellar spice rub, juicy with crispy skin, superb flavor.Need I say anything else, are you not amuse bouched? The only downside I can think of is that while their burgers are tasty, they are on the small side. You’ll likely be wanting to order more if, like me, you contain within you the collapsed heart of a dead star. But, the fact remains that Toxic the place to go for wings. Just writing this has made me hungry.
Love this place. From the moment I walked in I felt like I belonged. The staff was incredibly inviting and all smiles. I ordered the double cheeseburger and fries, and it was delicious. As I sat down at the beautifully unique wood tables, the owner came out to greet and speak with customers. He remembered their names and took time to speak with them. This is the perfect one of a kind, locally owned restaurant that Eugene needs. Can’t wait to go back and try the wings.
Visited within the first weeks of their opening. A great start and the price was right. The wings had the perfect texture but could have been larger and meatier. Was a little disappointed in the sauce I expected a little more then just bottled stuff. Will be going back soon.
