Nice atmosphere. But, I wasn’t impressed with my cheese steak sandwich and fries; it was salty and the meat was tough. The fries were mediocre. I think this place is definitely more for breakfast than lunch for sure.
Great spot for breakfast, very affordable. From simple eggs and toast to brulee oatmeal, everything in the menu is delicious! Would definitely recommend trying them out!
Mississippi Avenue has dramatically improved over the last decade, Gravy restaurant is most definitely one of the reasons. Although my part of three arrived during a busy Thursday brunch hour, we were kindly greeted and promptly seated. We ordered two Monte Cristos and a Biscuits and Gravy. The each meal was very filling and could easily feed two. The chefs have a very unique and hearty way to present their breakfast. Most definitely worth retuning to.
This is a great spot for a hometown meal. Just get 1 biscuit…seriously…all the portions are huge. It is a very affordable place. Quick service and they make their own hot sauce. thefabempire.com
Came by on a Sat morning for brunch. Around 11 am the wait was about 30 mins, not too bad when the weather is nice out. A little less awesome when the weather is gross. (; The staff was very friendly, especially w how busy they were! I wanted to order a burger but I learned they don’t serve lunch on the weekends, sadly. Luckily, they had other delicious options – I ordered bacon & sausage and it was amazing. Generous portions. Street parking. I’ll be back!
I really want to rate this place higher. Service was attentive but the kitchen was having a tough time. Pancakes were light a fluffy but one was slightly burned and they forgot to include blueberries so the topped the cakes. While my Romeo scramble could have used a touch of salt, it was prepared well. However, my date’s tofu scramble was not prepared correctly. Server did a great job getting it corrected but again, kitchen dropped the ball a couple times. Definitely worth a second trip but expectations will be lower.
We had gone to this part of the town in search of the legendary, Bluestar and stumbled upon this. We noticed massive queues outside and guesses this must be one special place. I had bacon and eggs along with a juice and it was a wholesome breakfast.
