I came down to the restaurant on a Saturday, during a pretty busy time of people walking around, but no one was actually stopping to eat dinner yet. I took advantage of showing up at 5 p.m. and grab the table before it got too packed.There was a happy hour menu with happy hour appetizers, but I was not too interested in trying any of them. I came in here for one specific reason, I just moved here from Florida and I’m looking for places that can attempt to do our Southern barbecue. I came here specifically for the brisket sandwich.The decor in here was cute and the music was Blues. Finally a change of Music here in the area as opposed to the whiny indie rock that has been playing in most of the restaurants that I go to.I started off by ordering a signature cocktail, the peach fuzz. It was made with Bulleit Burbon, and that was the only thing you could taste in the whole drink. It wasn’t the best, but it was pricey so I drank it anyway.With my brisket sandwich I also got a side of coleslaw and french fries. When the sandwich came out I was a little shocked that it had onion rings on it, but that didn’t take away from the Flavor of the sandwich and it was still good. The brisket was made perfectly. The coleslaw with vinegar base, and just wasn’t that creamy mayonnaise coleslaw that you get down south. The crinkle-cut fries were perfection.I was really hoping to get fried green tomatoes while I was at this restaurant, but they said it was something that was seasonal and they did not have it at the time.
