This place has a beautiful atmosphere! Very big & open. Has great wifi connection, and good service. Only downside I would say is there’s absolutely nothing else besides coffee, no tea, or juice. So make sure you & your party enjoys the bean.
Best in Portland. Far too many roasters over roast the coffee beans, causing them to taste burnt. When that happens, it masks all of the wonderful flavors that are natural to a bean roasted to perfection, and makes the coffees taste the same regardless of their potential. Coava Coffee Roasters have mastered the science of roasting. Their coffee is roasted to near perfection, and each flavor contained within the beans is clearly distinguishable at some point as you drink to the bottom of the cup. The manner in which they roast allows you to choose beans that you like best based on the flavors they are infused with from the location and manner in which they were grown. A few of the Portland Roasters like Water Avenue, and Heart are learning these methods, and even Stumptown if you go to the shop in their new headquarters, is learning from the competition that Coava has brought to the area. But, Coava is still the best.
Struck me as a cool atmosphere that would be good for a rainy day coffee
Yes, amazing coffee, but I could have done with out the holier than thou attitude from the barista. Barely, at counter a minute & u was curtly asked: are you going to order anything? No line behind me, no logic here except this fellow clearly woke up on the other side of bed
Best shop in the city?. In an area of town that has no shortage of great coffee (Water Ave, Stumptown, Cellar Door, Oblique etc), Coava may be the best roaster. They do a legit pourover, and the open space has lots of room as well as natural light for working. Highly recommended.
Single Origin Greatness. Intentionally slow – this coffee is both single origin and made with a severe eye to detail. Amazing cup of coffee.
Amazing coffees, expert baristas, gorgeous use of an old building. This outfit is all about quality.
