Homecoming Delight!. My dad has been taking me here since I was a kid. I love their chili, fries and above all – sandwiches. Subs? What would you call it? I call delectable wonderment! I ask my dad to drop by here everytime I fly in and we’re heading home from the airport. Great place to eat. Great food! Great people. 🙂 I would recommend this to anyone who like flavorful food. Sausage and peppers. I can taste it now and oh do I miss it! November – I’m stopping in again!!!
Miss The Pizza. I miss the pizza…I have not been in to Michaels in years, and I was looking forward to having one of his pizzas, but sadly he quit making them. The food was o.k. but not great. The rolls were stale and even hard. I doubt I will be back.
Restaurants like this one make Portland. Authentic, greasy,simple and delicious. If this place ever has to close, then Portland is done for.
The best choice is the combo and the fries are always crispy. The owner can be gruff with his workers but – hey, he is from Chicago. The only disappointment is the chilli dog – go with the Chicago instead – of course.
SO NICE!!!!!. This is nuts, you mean I’m the first to write a review for this great place, perhaps because it’s impossible to describe how good it is, I usually have a full combo sandwich with onions and hot peppers, the homemade sausage, and tender roast beef are slathered in mind bending flavorful juices and placed in a hoagie roll, yikes!!!!The pizza is real Chicago too, and relax, this place is for people, all the people, a cool atmosphere with an overdose of Chicago everywhere you look, why not try a traditional Chicago hot dog?
