Been here twice and both times the food was pretty poorly cooked. The prices are cheap for this area so I guess you get what you pay for. Pinball machines and friendly service are the only draws. Parking on nearby streets free.
Old Time favorite of my wife and I. Started coming here when we first started dating! That was 30 years ago!Fun, Dive Bar, with super great ambiance! If your looking for a very casual, lunch or dinner and a cold one… This is right up your alley!Leave your ego at the door!Enjoy, West-Morry
The kind of place Marlowe hung out in. This is the divey sort of place that I imagine Philip Marlowe meeting a suspect in. It probably hasn’t changed since then, it’s a total trippy time warp. But, in a good way. The food was surprisingly good and the beer was fast and relatively cheap. The only thing wrong about this place is that the bathroom smelled like it hadn’t been cleaned since the days of Raymond Chandler.
Junkshop Diner. This was our consolation prize after we got to Slow Bar and found that theyre not open for lunch on the weekend. A divey diner with kitsch to spare these are the kind of places I feel at home in. All kinds of crazy junk hanging from the ceiling and walls to keep you entertained. Their Beers prices are great; $2 Rolling Rock, $2.25 High Life, Pabst, etc. Happy Hours even better. Food: I had the Western Bacon Cheeseburger ($6.75) and it went down nice and easy. Ole wifey got a Chicken Strip Wrap ($7.00) and said there was plenty of Chicken in there along with some other goodies. She wasnt too fond of the Potato Salad though. My Fries were of the crinkle cut variety and were fine. This is Diner food of the good sort. Nothing gourmet, but not grease pit either. After witnessing a man receive a wonderful looking stack of Pancakes and some kind of breakfast combo plate we agreed to come back in the AM sometime and give that a spin. Grade: BUpdate: 11/28/10The aforewitnessed breakfasts are all that that they were cracked up to be. Recommended. drexlermcstyles.tumblr.com
Iron City in Stumptown!. Whenever I go back to Portland town this is a must stop/revisit. Plus, they carry Pittsburgh’s champagne of beers…snub nosed Iron City. Take that Session!
Hangover heaven. This is your greasy breakfast place where you feel like your eating at a friends house.
