Beautiful setting overlooking downtown Portland with a great wine selection. I had a rose flight and loved the Hortus de Bergerie so naturally I had another glass. The summer salads were unique and tasty. We shared four salads; nectarine with goat cheese, fried avocado with shrimp, endive with beets and watermelon with fennel.
You’ll be much happier if you walk down Burnside a couple blocks to The Farm, where the food will be just as good, but significantly cheaper. a nice place to sample wine, but it doesn’t live up to the price point. Service was just fine. Great view, of course, and good lighting and nice booths.
31 year old married couple, we loved it! I couldn’t believe all the haters writing reviews. My wife and I celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary here and it was awesome. Chocolate brownie was ridiculous, wine amazing, view AMAZING, and our waitress was seriously one of the nicest people. She had super good taste in wine, made some great recommendations, and she chatted us up the whole time (blonde gal with glasses, looks 30 but claims she’s in her late 40’s). Maybe its that we don’t get much but I defy you to find a rooftop bar with this much going for it. We also love the back story (read their website) of the chef husband, and his wife and her friend that run it. We are so annoyed by the 78% rating that we are making reservations for 8 for my wife’s bday this Friday. Places this good deserve to be supported!!!
ONLY HAPPY HOUR. Ok, so the view is amazing and the wine is pretty good. the food is— ok. if i had paid regular price, i would have been pissed. but, not bad for happy hour at all.
What Happened?. Used to be our favorite, reliably great spot for good wine, cheeses, appetizers & food. Over the holidays we took our LA guests there and although the cocktails and olives at the bar were great, when we were seated and ordered two different wine flights for tastings, not one was worthy of a bottle for dinner. All sour, green, flabby. We asked for suggestions and tastes from the waitress, who talked a good wine talked but brought swill. We finally settled on a $53 bottle that didn’t stand up to a Trader Joes $4.99 special. the cheese tray was eh. One good but tiny wedge, the others were rubbery and flat. I orderd Monk fish for $25, it was the size of a golf ball and had a big bone down the middle. probably 4 bites in all.The other meals were okay I guess, but I’m still wondering how a wine bar could offer such sour wines.
Wine +. Not only great views and good service but the wine selection is one of the best. They do their research, feature small local wineries and know their wines.
Great location, good wine & food. We wanted a glass of wine on a friday. Noble Rot fit the bill. We enjoy the rare view of Portland’s skyline from an Eastside location. The specials on the food menu were surprisingly good & creative.
