Lively fun restaurant that takes reservations especially if you plan ahead. The server told us they like to serve all of the dishes family style which I enjoy because you get lots of exciting tastes. We started with a unique appetizer , the Fried Olives that were topped with an aioli and pepper flakes, following up with a fresh winter green salad that was laced with beets, radishes and hazelnuts. The restaurant has a beautiful wood fired oven . Our pizza was amazing as the crust melted in your mouth. The Lamb Angolotti with cauliflower was also exceptionally good. The restaurant has a wide variety of Italian wines. We had a tasty Dolcetto.

This was the Oregonian dining guide 2015 restaurant of the year. I was excited to go because of the French Laundry connection. It didn’t disappoint. Everything was great start to finish plus they take online reservations.

The food, service, and overall experience at Renata is wonderful. I would recommend getting a few things to share for the table, as both their pastas and mains are worth trying. Currently the best Italian restaurant in Portland! pateachew.wordpress.com

Went here on Saturday night just five days after theofficial opening. The attention todetail here is great, from the architecture to the food and service. A little pricey for Portland, but you feelyou are getting your money’s worth. There are a half dozen pastas and several wood-fired pizzas, as well asgrilled meat and fish to choosefrom. All have slight variations fromthe usual to make them a little unique.I had the mixed lamb grill, and the rest of my party hadpasta. Portions are not hug but thequality and flavor was excellent. Evenso soon after opening the service was polished and not lacking in any way. There is a great patio in front, which opens into therestaurant, weather permitting, as well as parking on site. I will go back here, definitely.
