Located in a historic building in the heart of town, Morris’ Fireside is a quaint, cozy restaurant, with a nice big fire located in the center of the dining room. Lots of decor decorate the walls and the colors and log cabin atmosphere are nice, especially after a cold windy day on the Oregon coast. The waiters were friendly, but not too inviting nor did they open up much, but they were fast and inoffensive. The food, based on multiple visits was good. I find the best value comes from the cheaper lunch menu, with the soups, salads, and sandwiches. All are reasonably priced. The cup of chowder or daily soup is a lot, and the sandwiches are very tasty. The salads are good sized. I’ve seen the larger meals such as the steaks and seafood are good, but some people say they are not worth the money. But based on my experiences with the lower priced items on the menu, I give this restaurant a good score, and worth a visit. Especially after a cold day, the fire place feels great, and you can’t go wrong with some down home cooking. I Recommend the BLT, with the soup of the day and a green side salad. Tasty, lots of bacon, and not expensive. On average, prices will vary from under $10 to $15. Bigger entrees can go upwards of $15 into the $20s.

Service great; food, meh. We were here on a slow day during the week for an early dinner. The service was great with the waiter being friendly and attentive, but not too much so. The food wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t great. It tasted okay, and the presentation was mediocre. It doesn’t look like anyone cares. The atmosphere remains appealing and cozy, so I hope they do something to give the food some pizzazz. I’m still looking for my go-to spot in Cannon Beach for dinner.

Everytime we go to Cannon Beach we stop here. Its our second favorite place for Clam Chowder (hard to beat the Chowder House in Depot Bay). It has a great atmosphere, and always great service.

Also, the prices were horrible. Very disappointing. :-(18 Aug, 2013Well, I love the decor. It was warm. And good to look at. Service was friendly, and kind. But, the food wasnt the greatest. We had a group of 6, My sister in law wanted chicken fried steak, and wasnt aware that it was brown gravy. It wasnt very noticeable, so it was confusing. My mother had the same thing. Wasnt the greatest. Grandpa got a BLT, wasnt that great either. All the way around, service not bad. Food, ehh. Could be better. I am not going to tell you to go or not to go. But, I guess you learn by going.

We loved the food here. The clam chowder is amazing. The French dip was good. And I had the shrimp Louis salad, it was beautiful, and very fresh!
