I had a small Dark Chocolate Mocha and the Turkey with Aged Cheddar sandwich. The sandwich was average caf food, but the mocha was delicious. It’s nice to go to a place you can actually taste the espresso in your beverage. The service was a bit uppity, and the prices were high for the type of food served (over $10 for the sandwich and drink); however, it’s a nice little place and I would probably return for a good cup of coffee.
Almost great. I really try to love Ava’s but it can be hard. It has a great location and is laid back about large groups sitting for long periods of time. The atmosphere is relaxed but mostly peaceful. The problem is that the coffee is burnt and the ample pastries seem to abound in sugar but lack in taste. It can be difficult to find a place to sit since people often camp out for hours. I just can’t bring myself to go to a coffee shop that has worse coffee that Starbucks!
