WATCH YOUR BILL FOR OVER CHARGES!!. Ethically this place gets a big fat 0 but 1 star is the lowest you can rate it. So here’s my story. We go there at least once a week – I ordered 3 beef enchilada’s, extra sauce and cheese al a cart – they bring me out a plate with four on it, I say to the same lady who had taken our order that I only ordered three – she waves and says it ok. We get the bill ( just for what I ordered) and JUST GUESS what they charged me ? I see four Ench – extra extra 25.92 – HOLY SMOKES BATMAN – we’ve been ROBBED! 6.48 per enchilada?? I talk to the owner lady in her fancy sparkle pants – I say I only ordered three and why the extra extra – she says .50 for sauce and .99 for cheese – OK sounds reasonable but per each enchilada? WFT? So I eat here all the time – I know the base is 4.50 – so she added an extra 1.98 to EACH one for the extra cheese and sauce- BS ( that math doesn’t even add up) I try to talk with her and explain – she says I take 2.00 off – WFT? that’s still 5.98 each ( and lets not forget I only ordered three NOT four) So she wouldn’t take off the fourth one and I say – your willing to lose our business FOREVER over your mistake and charging 1.50 for sauce and cheese per enchilada – She said I have over head, have to pay my bills and employee’s – I said OK – good luck, we wont be back. Wow, what an awful way to run a business. I guess we’ll find another place to spend our 160 ish a month. Totally bill today for LUNCH 38.92 – TIP 0 ( since it was her/owner that took our order) Yahh, first time in my life I ever tipped 0 – even with bad service we tip 10%. HAS THIS EVER HAPPENED TO YOU? I SEE SOME OTHER POSTS THAT SAY WATCH YOUR BILL….. SO BE WARNED!!
Huarache With Steak. Don’t understand the haters. My meal was excellent and served quickly. Salsa would have been better with a little more Pico added, but I’ll get a side next time. Beautiful, colorful restaurant. Gringo friendly menu with lots of pictures and choices. Will definitely stop here again.
Man…, Just Skip This Place. Ive been to Pepitas a few times, but this time was the last. Every time we go the service is slow and someones order is always wrong. On this visit we had to ask 3 times for a Coke, we ordered cheese dip which took a laughable 20 minutes to get. But its good we did because it took 40 minutes to get our food. And there were only 2 other tables when we ordered. I received an entirely wrong dish to which I was told he didnt read the ticket, so today was my turn for the wrong order, its like Russian Roulette. The food is average at best. The cheese dip tasted like flour, the beans like mushy cardboard and trust me, the crispy tacos will not look like they do on the menu, they will look like Ortega. I try to give places 2nd chances, and boy did they blow it. There are so many Mexican places along the Canyon/BH corridor, go to any of those, do NOT go to this one.
Not very good food and poor service. Tried a simple lunch and was very disappointed in both the mediocre food and terrible service. This is one of a handful of places I’ve been to where no tip was given. A 1/5 rating.
Hung up on me. I am so sad to be writing this review because the food is good and I had been going here for a couple years but when I called to order food today it went all bad. First, the prices on here are not at all correct. Second, the owner took my order and we had a miscommunication. I ordered a chicken fajita for my friend and 2 chicken enchiladas for me. He told me $23. When I hung up I thought that seemed too high so I looked back at the pricing and thought he might have ordered me 2 separate orders of the chicken enchiladas so I called back to make sure. He went over the order and prices saying that the fajita was $14 or something. I told him it said $7.50 on Yelp. When he realized I was ordering the burrito he told me he wouldn’t fix it. When I asked him to fix the order he hung up on me. I called back again, this time very angry and he refused to apologize or fix the order. I told him to cancel it and I would not be going there again and he simply said ok. He knows me from coming in for about 4 years and we’ve always laughed and had fun but today he hangs up on me and doesn’t care if I ever come back? Wow. I know everyone has bad days but geesh.
Love it! Best Mexican in whole PDX metro area. My husband grew up on good Mexican food in Arizona and Pepita’s comes closest to what his taste buds expect. Try it!!!
