Rainy Portland days cry out for a tasty steamy bowl of Pho. The broth at Pho Van is one of my favorites. The meat is very lean and seems to be a higher quality than some Pho options. I also enjoy a starter of the crispy rolls. The service is quick and the atmosphere is calm and the booths add the environment.

Great Vietnamese Fare. FINALLY … I found a good, original Vietnamese eatery with a full menu.GREAT Pho, & other dishes. I wouldn’t mind if there were more combinations of pho offered from which to chose, but the beef combo was anadequate mix for me. The wife had a wonderfully tasty dish of gound beef wrapped in betel leaf. IT was equally as yummy. I wish there was a Pho Van In Lake-O. The Vietnamese choices in that area are pathetic. Luckily, Mai Asia in Tualatin isn’t far, but when I’m in the Beaverton area, Pho Van will be my choice.

Pho Yeah!. The service sucks, but I am willing to overlook that when they drop nirvana in a bowl onto my table.Let me be fully open, I don’t like soup. I can’t eat soup but more than 3-4 times a year, and yes I do remember. However, this ascends a soup monicer. I would consider this a meal in a bowl. The best things about it are the broth, but the ingredients are always fresh and the starters are equally as good. The salad or crispy rolls are very good. I also enjoy the noodle dishes as well as the pho. The honey lemongrass chicken is a great alternative if you don’t want the traditional pho.

Good food, good prices, decent service. They are family friendly. You need to be very specific if you are vegetarian or vegan.

Don’t forget about the Cm c Bit. The tendency here is to focus on the Ph, which is fantastic, but the rice dishes, especially the Cm c Bit, are sublime. The portion sizes have gotten smaller when compared to the 82nd Ave. location about 5 years ago, but still plentiful. The pickled vegetables with the dried pork (with some fish sauce) are the highlights for me.
