Since we stayed at Resort on the Mt the restaurant was super convenient. The service was ok but the food and dessert was above average. It’s also a kid friendly place which is very important to us.
Wow. We were pleasantly suprised. We were staying at the resort so decided to try Altitudes. Started with Pork Belly corn fritters and sauce outstanding! The pear soup cool looking and hard to stop eating. My son ate all the mac and cheese. Daughter enjoyed Fondue, creative. Prime rib was tender and sauce made it. Staff was courteous and timely. Would love to eat there again.
Attitude at Altitude. Consider the waiter who stops to chat with people at the bar while he’s in the middle of delivering your food. You think he’d want to first put the plates down on your table…The food was interesting. The lemon cheesecake was delicious. Don’t order the sashimi plate. One paper thin slice of tuna rubbed with five spice powder, very expensive and who wants to taste five spice powder instead of the fish?.The Skyway in Rhododendron serves sushi on Thursdays and for the price of one skimpy sliver of tuna you can have a whole meal, and not get brushed off by the waiters.
Mediocre and bland.. Altitude at The Resort is in a spectacularly beautiful setting-unfortunately the food is mediocre. We’ve eaten there 5 times and each time have been disappointed, sorry to say we won’t go back . They try hard, the employees will bend over backwards for you-great service, but the food doesn’t deliver. If you’re staying at The Resort and want a couple of good places to try, head to the Skyway Bar & Grill, take a right at the light about 1 mile on the left, or head to The Rendezvous, left at the light and on your right about 1/2 a mile. Both restaurants have great food and you won’t feel like you wasted your money or walk away hungry for a decent meal. Altitude at The Resort is still working out the kinks and not up to snuff.
