Mom’s favorite Taco Bell. Once you get past the fact that Taco Bell isn’t Mexican food at all, among the major nationwide fast food chains, good ol’ TB has some of the better tasting items. And it’s nice that they probably aren’t killing you quite as quickly as artery-clogging burgers. We visited the Exit 12 Taco Bell, as Mom calls it, and feeling extra hungry, I used a couple of free Chalupa coupons (leftover from Blazer game handouts) for the Baja-Chalupas with Chicken. I also ordered a regular bean burrito and a pintos ‘n cheese, that little bean/cheese cup which I seldom see printed on a menu anymore but is still available for the asking. Since their introduction, I’ve thought Chalupas to be among the better items at TB and these were good as usual. The beans and bean burrito are merely cheap ways to get filled up – I usually douse them with hot sauce. The staff at this restaurant are always particularly helpful and friendly and the place is clean.
