Wonderful. The pulled pork sandwich was so good. I’d never had one with slaw before and it made it even better. I get takeout collards, corn muffins, green beans, mac n cheese and okra for future meals. It is a bit on the pricey side but it is one of the few places around where you can get southern style food. I love it.
Great use of the Groupon. I bought a $40 coupon for four people to eat at the H&H. We invited our son and daughter-in-law, got there at 5:30 and were greeted by a very friendly owner. They had dinner on the table for us within 10 minutes and it was delicious. We had no problems with anything while we were there. The food was warm and very tasty. We’ll be going back!
Awesome!!! Can’t type with all the sauce on my fingers!! Hole in the Wall move WAY over!!!
Down home food. This place was GREAT. Reminded me of food in Texas. Great food ,,great service.. a welcoming atmosphere. The prices are a bit steep, but the food is great.
The pulled pork was so good I couldn’t stop eating. Mac n cheese was bland, but the candied yams were delicious. Finally found a good BBQ joint! We’ll be back.
Beware of the attitude and using Groupons. I have eating at the place 3 times and each time it has been a different experience! The first, employees were super friendly and the food was good! Kids loved the mac n cheese and banana pudding! Second time, went for the Sunday night Fried Chicken. My mom had said that it was the best chicken she had ever had. Well, I was soon to be disappointed and was so looking forward to fried chicken. Let me say, there was hardly any breading on the chicken, the chicken looked like rubber and didn’t taste much better…for $16.95…not impressed! Now for the GROUPON experience! They are NOT honoring what is stated on the Groupon. It states $20 worth of BBQ Fare and not valid for happy hour or all you can eat! That means you should be able to spend your $20 as you please. First groupon I had no problems. Second time, huge problems and the rules (owner lady’s rules) seem to be changing day by day!!! 1) Note on door and counter that Groupons are not to be used on Take Out. Easy enough state that on the Groupon 2) Can only be used on their Bail Out meals or Sandwiches, NOT what Groupon states, but don’t try and order more than two meals and use your extra few dollars toward the other meals, because apparently the Groupon is NOW only good for the purchase of 2 meals and must be only 2 people. I was odering 3 meals and happy to pay the difference and the owner lady grilled me as to why I was ordering 3 meals when there was only 2 of us. My son was the third and sitting at the table. Really!!! 3) you MUST NOW order drinks with your 2 meals you are ordering with your Groupon. Again not stated!!! I told the lady that we were not soda drinkers and I have not done that in the past using a Groupon and she was totally enforcing it. Groupons is GREAT they will GLADLY refund you money, if you have such a bad experience and would like not to use another Groupon with this business!! On top of such a bad experience ordering, we were there for 30 minutes and we never got our food. There were no orders in front of us and 2 others waiting. People, they don’t even really have to cook the meats, they are already prepared from the smoker and so are the side dishes!!! When I finally stood up, to see were my food was, nothing being prepared on the assembly line, the RUDE owner lady sees me and starts to prepare it , remind you I have been there 30 minutes and then brings us 3 corn muffins, that were HARD, COLD and DRY, doesn’t say a thing about our food and what is taking so long. When I asked she got very defensive and disagreed that I had been waiting 30 minutes!!! Never did get our food, money was refunded and I will never be back!!!
Important food review. My sis and I just ate the best lunch in Eugene, OR. Somehow she heard about H&H and I must tell you…the fried catfish is as good as there is in the deep South. The fried okra, corn bread, collards, bar b que ribs and tarter sauce were absolutly the best ever. I have eaten many times at the Hush Puppy in Las Vegas, I have eaten all over No & So Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee and points south. The food at H & H was genuine, healthy and delicious, not to be beat by anyone. Thank you for listening.
