Too cool for school. This place is ridiculous. I went in looking for a latte at 3:00pm. The barista explained to me that I could get an 8 0z, 10 oz, or 16oz but ONLY how they make it. I like to nurse a latte for a while, and at the price they were charging I wanted to get something substantial in return. I asked for a 16oz. The Barista abruptly reminded me that I could only get it how they make it, which is with four shots in a 16 oz. Four shots at 3:00pm. I asked if I could get two shots instead, and she said no. NO! I just wanted a damn cup of coffee, and they refused to make me a drink that had a less coffee to milk ratio. As a Barista myself, I found this absurd. I’m offering to give you money for a drink with less product, giving you a higher profit margin and you are standing there refusing to do so. Against my better judgement I ordered my husband a drip coffee. It was Father’s Day after all and I didn’t want to return to our car full of sleeping kids empty handed. At 2.75 for 16 oz of drip coffee, I would say it was definitely over priced. When my husband took his first sip, he confirmed that; in fact it was. It was watered down and tasted like cigarettes. I guess I’m just not cool enough for places like this anymore. I wish we had a Stumptown.
