SO legit.. I’ve only been here once, but I will rave about my food until the day I die… or I go back, and have something crappy – who knows. My mom brought me here and ordered the Lion’s Head, which wasn’t on the menu but apparently is Tom’s specialty that is made fresh in the mornings and usually sells out by the afternoon. Lion’s Head is basically two large pork shumai (or siomai, however you’d like to spell it) with tofu, glass noodles and a rich broth, served with a side of rice. It’s basically the most legitimate, and delicious, Chinese dish I’ve ever eaten. I’ve never really thought about coming in here to eat because it’s usually either closed or so seemingly small/cramped/uncomfortable, but it’s actually pretty spacious inside and if it’s open, I suggest coming here and ordering the Lion’s Head or anything else they serve that’s not on the menu. (For the Lion’s Head, try coming in earlier in the day, i.e. before the lunch rush – apparently it sells out fast!)
