Great to finally eat here. We’d heard so much about the chef and this place, it was great to eat here. First course was a cauliflower soup that I absolutely loved….love, love, love. My sweetie thought it was good. Second course was a charcuterie plate with 12 things on it, arranged in a circle or clock, with the suggestion to start at 1 o’clock and eat clockwise. Interesting selection of bites, including a chicken liver mousse, beef tartare, pickles, duck prosciutto, mortadella, bratwurst, and ending with her signature foie gras bonbon – which was indeed unique, interesting, and magical.Third course was braised pork shoulder with mashed potatoes and French beans, sprinkled with bergamot flowers and it also had a tomato and red pepper relish. I thought it was like getting a big hug from the inside, and my sweetie thought it was yummy and very well-balanced.Fourth course was the mis-step of the evening: smoked trout with beets, beet puree, zucchini and horseradish cream – it was merely ok. Not the caliber of the chef. Fifth course was cheese: a barn-stinky sheep cheese, one perfectly fine cheese from France and another perfectly fine one from Italy – along some preserves. The final course was awesome: blackberry and hazelnut crisp with brown butter ice-cream, garnished with fresh blackberries and edible flowers….wow, I loved it!We waited about 30 minutes for late-comers and then felt rushed at the end – seeing all the people waiting for the second seating.

Great food and service, chairs were extremely uncomfortable and ambient noise passing for music was intrusive.

Great experience!. Let me first say that if I wasn’t give a gift card to this place for XMas, my review might not be so positive. My date and I went there and got wine pairings, so our total bill was $220. Since I only paid about 60 bucks out of pocket for the night, I have to say overall it was very positive. We were served six courses, and I’d say only about three truly stood out… the rest were just so-so. All in all, I had a great time (even though the chairs we sat in for 3 hours were painful!) and would recommend it to anyone. That being said, I won’t be going back until I get another gift card! The food was good, but not $260-good.

You gotta be Kidding me…. Not liking a place because you have to sit next to somebody? Gimme a break. The only problem with the food is I wanted MORE. OMG was it delicious, … AND creative. EVERYthing was prepared to perfection. Additionally, it was a treat to be entertained by the staff while watching the food be the plated (The tables are arranged in the same area as the huge, prep area so you can watch your meal be artfully plated. Hopefully, the new location will offer a similar setup). We had a spring onion soup in a rabbit stock base. Easily in the top two of the best onionsoups I’ve had. The big drawback with the mixed appetizer plate was that there was ony about a half-teaspoon of the foie-gras. That stuff was simply AMBROSIA. The steak tartare was close behind with its quail egg. I could go on & on about each course, but you get the drift. I enjoyed the whole experience, INCLUDING the company of the folks next to me who drove out all the way form The Dalles JUST for the fine meal.OK, … I hated the little intermezzo of lime sorbet. Waaaaaaayyy to heavy on the lime for my taste, but the intent was good. That was the only thing appealing to me in this meal. I have a large appetite, & slightly larger portions would be nice, but everybody else seemed to be happy with this sumptuous, 7-course delight.Thank you chef for a true gastronomic experience.

Don’t like sharing tables. Was really surprised how disappointing the food was here for the wait and cost

WOW!. I’ve eaten at Beast twice now. Once for dinner and once for brunch. Both meals were absolutely phenomenal. If you love food, Beast is a must. Every course is created with so much thought and care. The communal tables are a little different, but both times I’ve had good experiences with my fellow diners. Each time I’ve gone, I’ve tried things that I never thought I’d eat, let alone like. Steak tartare, blew me away, so flavorful and delicious. Chicken liver, WOW, I like liver. I’ve always hated rhubarb, but I have to say the rhubarb clafoutis has changed my mind on that.My friends and I agree, dining at Beast is wonderful dining experience and it really is an experience. If I could afford it, I’d eat there every week:)
