REALLY tasty Stuff. I found this place simply by accident while in the area. I’m really lucky I did, too!The soft tacos I had were the as pastor & lengua (Yes .. I’m a gringo & I simply LOVE tongue). The Al pastor was VERY tasty & well seasoned. The Lengua didn’t have any gamey taste & was tender & flavorful. Their relish bar offered three delicious hot sauces that I assume were home-made. The hot sauce had a hint of chipotle to it that gave it a great flavor yet wasn’t overly hot. Also offered were delicious hot carrots that had just the right amount of heat to them. An unusual addition was the pickled jalapeno shredded cabbage. LOVED it!!Being from SoCal, I’m really picky about my Mexican food. Ole Frijole is a worthwhile visit if you’re in the area.

Great for what they’re woking with.. Went here for lunch this afternoon and came out stuffed to the brim. Ordered the torta milanesa, which the very polite server brought out in a flash. The bread was kind of cheap, the lettuce wasn’t quite fresh and the milanesa patty wasn’t superb, but from taking sub-par ingredients this place pulled together one hell of an awesome sandwich. As a side I ordered rice and tossed on their cabbage/habenero relish, which was in itself amazing (the rice, predictable, but not like the instant minute rice you get at so many places in the NE.)Posh, snooty Portland diners have no reason to come here. The ingredients aren’t anything to write home about, but the preparation is. And the portions are huge for very little cash. No wonder the place was filled with construction workers on lunch breaks.

Tasty, clean & affordable rare to find all thee in an authentic Taquiria.

The decor may be spare and the place may look worn but the food brings me right back to my days in the Mission district of SF. The food is good. There are lots of veg options. The service is usually fast and freindly. My household goes at least once a week. Parking is not great but this really is a neighborhood place so most of us walk there.
