Love this spot. I agree with other reviewers that the service can be a little slow, but it doesn’t really bother me – nice to have that time to relax with company. It’s a beautiful space and the food is impeccable. Love their drinks also. The burger really is as amazing as everyone says! Love their tempura kale and sashimi as well. The spicy roll was pretty mild in my opinion. Pricy food but worth it.
This restaurant was low in the Oregonian dining guide 2015. I love this place, but love their happy hour more when prices go down. Great place to take a date but good kid friendly during happy hour. In Gourmet Gulch near Beast.
Yakuza is a great spot for share plates in a loungey atmosphere. We went for dinner and opted to sit in the back patio under heated lamps. I loved the jicama salad. Crisp slices of jicama balanced perfectly with sesame and a creamy avocado dressing. The tuna poke was also exceptional – the fresh pieces of ahi and perfectly-ripe avocado contrasted nicely with the tobiko. This will be my go-to izakaya in Portland, especially for date night. UPDATE: October 12, 2016It was a great disappointment returning to Yakuza. We ordered items from both their Happy Hour menu and dinner menu, including the albacore poke, Brussels sprouts, burger, and spicy tuna cone. Everything was extremely salty to the point that it was not palatable. Also, the bill came to $35 USD per person without alcohol. Certainly not worth visiting again.
I break my rating in half. Service blows and the bartender was concerned about texting and tweeting every 20 seconds than service to the customer. Food is awesome. I crave the Yakuza burger – best in PDX.
People really like this place? Servers were rude AND slow. We had to send a roll back to the kitchen, it was really stringy and kinda fishy. Also, I don’t think their hoods were woking properly because we came home wreeking of grease. Gross.
Just Wow.. The level of service! The Food, I wont even get into how fantastic and tasty it is. The Kobe burger is a must, I suggest splitting it amongst the group. We tried so many dishes and nothing let me down for a second. Also the atmosphere is fabulous, perfect for groups of friends, date or even anniversary. Once again the level of service was perfect, upbeat and more the helpful. I can’t wait to go back!
Sushi and a burger please. The yellowtail, pear and jalapeno roll is an explosion of perfect balance. the burger is the best ever… hands down. Nowhere else can you get the best of both worlds… and the service, ambiance and cocktails are fabulous…love.
