We enjoyed Umi weekly for a couple of years but wanted to enjoy a more varied menu of Japanese dishes in addition to sushi. Umi’s fish is top-notch, people are great but the noon parking is TERRIBLE!!! We now enjoy SHO for high quality fish, noodle dishes, entrees; extensive selection, easy parking, lovely atmosphere.
Changed our order.. My husband and I have eaten here a few times but won’t again. Our last visit we were treated with poor service and even stranger attitude from the waitress. The restaurant closes at 9:00pm and we arrived at 8:15pm and were literally given dirty looks by the two sushi chefs. There were still a half-dozen people eating in the dining room and at the sushi bar. The waitress came over and asked us if we were having dinner??? We said yes and were seated. We placed our order which came out pretty quickly but two of the items we ordered were changed without asking us first. One sushi roll and the tempura. We ordered vegetable tempura and a spicy tuna roll and were given shrimp tempura and tuna sashimi (and we were charged the higher menu prices for both). When the food came to the table the waitress suddenly spoke very poor English and mumbled something about not having any vegetables prepped for tempura since they were getting ready to close (at 8:15?). We were really hungry so ate the food any way and paid the higher tab but they will not get our business again.
