Most of the people mistake bazaar for aljebal. Aljebal is in downtown and bazaar is in the SW.I have been to this place with my friend as middle eastern cuisine is one of my favorites after coming to United States. We have ordered a chicken shawarma over rice, Chicken kebab plate and hummus with pita. There wasn’t any flavoring for the chicken it was jus boiled chicken with some yellow rice, kebab was not up to the mark. I would not go back for sure, simply waste of money.

More Moroccan Please!. So my brother had done me a huge favor and I decided some exotic lunch would be a good way to at least partially repay him. We arrived to a mostly empty restaurant and the attending young lady asked us to take a seat anywhere. It’s a nice place but somewhat cafeteria like with sparse but serviceable interior. Nonetheless the food was excellent. We started with a nice serving of Falafel. I have little experience with these but we enjoyed them. They placed a couple of sauces on our table as well. One was spicy sweet (very good) and the other was more like mayo. Both complemented the Falafels. Our meals weren’t far behind. My brother enjoyed a very tasty looking Chicken Shawarma & I had a Lamb Shank that was more than I should have ordered! It was tender and moist with a small salad & rice. I managed to finish it but had to pass on dessert. It was a delicious dish to be sure but I think I’ll share it next time. After our meal we took some time to check out the adjoining market and my brother talked with the owner (from Iraqi) for a while. They’ve certainly got a good thing going here but lack in the cyberspace department (no web site or facebook) so I’ll get the word out here. The food is good with friendly service and they have an unusual selection of goods in the market! They’re not easy to spot headed south on 99 (West side) so keep your eyes peeled!

Best middle eastern food in Corvallis. I’ve sample a lot of Falafel and Al Jabal has the best in town. They have a good selection of other middle east food items that are worth a try. Seating leaves something to be desired but the food makes up for it. Always friendly staff and they will go out of their way for your order. Good tasty vegetarian options and you won’t even miss the meat.
