At the bombs away Cafe all I’ve ever had at this establishment was nachos. They were good service was a little bit slow they weren’t very busy and I couldn’t understand why. By the time the nachos got to me they were warm and not as hot as I thought they would be. I’ve been taking there several other times and it’s been the same way each time.

I felt really bad for my friend who took me here, because she loved this placed. I was very disappointed in the food and the service. There were two servers working and a runner. We waited about 20 minutes for waters, which we only got because my friend got up and informed the staff we had been there twenty minutes. We ordered and received chips, salsa and guacamole. The runner promptly spilled half the green salsa on the table and only bothered to clean half the mess with a wad of napkins. The food arrived about 20 minutes after we finished the chips. My burrito was room temp at best in the middle and I only ate half. The over easy eggs on the papas enchilada con huevos were certainly not over easy, more like well done. At that point we had been there about an hour and a half and just wanted to leave. I looked around and saw most people were ordering the burger so maybe that is the way to go here. Iam unlikely to return.

Not Impressed. I have been to this place several times and I was always disappointed. The last time I tried the seafood tacos which they claimed were made with salmon. I couldn’t find the fish and certainly couldn’t taste it. Previously, I have tried their beef tacos and they were some of worst tacos I have ever had. I absolutely HATE tacos with corn in them and they insist on always doing that. Oh well. There are lots of better tacos to be found in Corvallis. I really want to like this place but I just can’t stand the food.

Consistently Great Eating. We’ve eaten at Bombs Away Cafe many times over the years and have never been disappointed. Southwest/mex style food with a refreshing twist. You can expect black beans on the side instead of refried beans (but you can get those), and lots of clever combinations of food. The beer selection is great (unless you go on a weds night since tuesday is the cheap beer night). We almost always order of the special menu but the regular menu is also very good, and you can’t beat the prices. Last night, we had the lamb fajitas and a besteca, both were excellent.

Gluten Free Menu. These folks seem to be very aware of GF limitations. Ask for the GF menu and enjoy!
