I had the Hobo Hash – add a little ketchup and it was great! My kids tried both the regular and gluten free cinnamon rolls. I thought the regular seemed a little dry…as if it was made a day or two earlier. My kid scarfed down the gf one and said it was delicious. The service was excellent and they were very accommodating to my 3 kiddos – coloring books at the table and even a little play structure to climb on while I finished my food.
Vegans avoid. This was the first restaurant I tried on the west coast. Being a vegan, I’m used to ordering toast with nothing on it back East, so I was excited to try this. It was recommended to me.The menu was pretty plain and traditional, and when I asked the waiter if the pancake batter had dairy, he wasn’t sure and didn’t offer to ask. I asked what was vegan and his only suggestion was the fruit bowl, so I got that. I think I paid ~$5 for this puny bowl of grapes and melon, and ~$3 more for a cup of tea. What a rip off! Lousy service and no vegan fare.
Horrible Service, OK Food,. We arrived just before 8 am on a Friday morning. Waited for the server and then were told at 8:04 that the early bird special only went until 8am so we couldn’t get it. Food was ok, nothing special but our server walked past our table at least twice with the coffee pot without offering to refill our coffee. Then offered to refill the coffee when we were finished eating and she was bringing us our bill. Ignored our credit card the first time she walked past after we put it on the table and never smiled once during our entire meal.
Liked it. Was in Corvallis by myself and needed brunch, so I chose this place. Went on a Tuesday and sat at the counter. The staff was friendly and attentive. The menu had tons of options, sure to please anyone. The waitress kindly answered my questions and my burrito was delicious. I’d recommend it.
Good Breakfast. I visited the Broken Yolk this morning and was happy to find it as I remember. The place can be a bit noisy and crowded but getting there a little earlier seems to be a way to avoid the rush. I had the ham and eggs breakfast with hash browns and toast, the portions aren’t huge but the taste and freshness has always been consistently good. I would recommend the Broken Yolk to anyone looking for a good, non greasy spoon breakfast.
Great Little Breakfast Spot. A few weeks ago my parents and I dropped by broken yoke for breakfast. My parents, being put off by the college scene, were very apprehensive about eating here on game day. Be warned, the small room consisting of concrete walls and floor accompanied by enthusiastic beaver fans make for a VERY noisy environment. Basically, I would stay away from Broken Yoke on Saturdays. Noise aside, the food was great! I ordered the tex skillet (chorizo sausage, cubed potatoes, two kinds off cheese, peppers, and plenty of spice), my dad ordered the Athens skillet (cubed potatoes, Feta, fresh spinach leaves, and kalamata olives), and my mother ordered the Pigs in a Blanket. All three meals were served with two eggs and toast. Each table is adorned with a squeeze bottle of Grandmas Jam (their house jam) which I found to be tasty. Each meal was just under $10 each making it slightly high for breakfast. The restaurant is decorated in a very modern/hip style and has tables for parties of 2-8. If you find yourself in downtown Corvallis around breakfast time, I suggest you give em a taste
Good food in a funky atmosphere…I get it BUT I shouldn’t have to look at my servers BOXERS because his pants were hanging off his ass. I don’t know about you but I prefer to eat without looking at someone’s underwear. It’s time to close the place down for a couple days and CLEAN.
