Great vegan spot. My boyfriend and I enjoyed vegan appetizers and entrees from a wide selection. Dan, the server, has a great sense of humor. We had a wonderful conversation with the owner about his menu and how the animal-free options reflect his beliefs in life. Over-all wonderful and can’t wait to go back again and again. I’ve been craving the vegan pho ever since I had it.

Good service. Hi . Am a guy used to work at Kimhoa place , I don’t think the owner of the restaurant did that (yell ) to the kid ,because when i was worked there had some customers when they brought their kids to the restaurant , some of them don’t take care the kids ,they let them run around in the restaurant like play ground place ,when we went to asked them to take care the kid , always ask them nicely and they should to know that restaurant place they serve hot foods , is kind of danger for the kinds if they run hit the server while the taking the food out for the table . My idea when we bring a kid(s) out for the restaurant should be respect their properties as well.If you guy don’t believe what i said please go check there , and you will see how good service are they and tasty foods as well .:) Oh one more thing , How could you know the owner took all the tip from waitress ? if you are not working on their system. if you don’t know anything for sure please don’t say something is not true .Hope every one understand what i said here , and you guy can go check and try their food n service .I would say i like their service and foods.( yummy) 🙂

Bad service .. This place has some good and some untasted dish, but I just not satisfied with the shop owner is so mean and unprofessional treading the customers , I took my 2 young children to have lunch there , my son play with the curtains the owner come out with an angry expression on his face and yell at my son, my son was scare and cry that is unacceptable, and one thing is not acceptable the waitress suppose to get the tips but No , the owner took them all that’s not cool . I never come back to this place again .

Score another bullseye for Rev Roster!. The good Rev says this is about as good as Vietnamese food gets around here and I can’t dispute his claim.SWMBO and I arrived shortly after noon. It was moderately busy but we were promptly seated and given Water, Menus and Tea.We started with a Salad Roll Appetizer which was cool, fresh and delicious. Carol picked Satay Chicken Rice which came with a Spring Roll and two large Butterflied Shrimp on a nice bed of Steamed Rice. I tasted the Chicken and couldn’t see how it could have been better. She said it was a little sweet for her tastes. RR’s review had my mind made up before I ever walked in the door. I had the Spring Roll Soft Noodles Pork just as the Master suggested. They take a bed of cool Rice Vermicelli Noodles, add fresh Vegetables, Crushed Peanuts and top it with two Fried Spring Rolls and wonderfully seasoned Flame Broiled Pork on a skewer. It’s a large volume of food in a big bowl but, surprisingly, it rests lightly on the stomach. The service was unobtrusive but certainly adequate. We have several good Vietnamese places in Salem but, in my judgment, none tops this one. I heartily add my recommendation of Kimhoa’s

Amazing!. So ya think you have had good Vietnamese food? If you havent eaten here, you havent eaten the best! I was helping my parents move into there new house when I caught a whiff of Vietnamese food in the air (true story). I checked my favorite restaurant review site (duh, this site) to see what was around. After pinpointing Kimhoas on my gps I set off for what was about to be a FANTASTIC dining experience. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and has a nicely decorated interior. My waiter quickly brought me a menu and jasmine tea (the good stuff). I ordered the Spring roll soft noodle pork because the menu description sounded much like a dish that I once ate on a regular basis in Florida. There is a certain beauty that the Vietnamese have captured in there food by using simple ingredients that produce complex flavors and textures. The bowl was layered as follows: room temperature rice noodles that gave a cool and refreshing feel, Fresh cabbage and carrots added some crunch, crushed peanuts, a skewer of barbecued pork which added a smoky and chewy feel (So Good!), and a drizzling of fish sauce (which is tangy and savory). You need to try this place ASAP! I highly suggest that you give em a taste

The best Vietnamese cooking!!! Be adventurous and ask the owner to try something more authentic. If you are lucky the cooks will have made something special, off the menu, and by request only. Great food, great service, and few can compare. I recommend the flame broiled pork rice and the pho dac biet!
