Good food and service. I’ve never been disappointed with the food. They always have a good selection of fish. The wait staff are good about explaining things I’m not familiar with. The only time service wasn’t great was on the last day of one of their specials and they were extremely crowded. We go there often and have done so for years.
Grr Second Strike of The Night…. After a lunatic experience at Shanghai Wok, and against my better judgment my family and I settled on McGraths. I dont normally enjoy chain restaurants, especially pricey ones that are proud of their average quality food (think along the lines of Red Lobster, Joes Crab Shack, ect.). Often times great local food can be purchased for around the same price or even cheaper. All five of us were sat at a table and delivered menus. My parental units ordered the endless shrimp promotional plate ($12.99), my little sister chose the classic club ($9.79), my brother (the bodhisattva of burgers) ordered the California Burger ($9.99), and yours truly ordered a plate of coconut shrimp ($12.99).The waitress was friendly…a little too friendly…awkwardly and falsely friendly (more on that later). My meal came with a salad and I can honestly say, it was the most pathetic dinner salad I have ever seen. A large plate of ranch dressing with 8-9 pieces of lettuce afloat in it doesnt really count as a salad. My brothers salad was visibly twice the size of mine; leading me to believe that I got the end of the salad bag. The ten or so coconut shrimp were passable and were served with orange marmalade instead of a pina coloda sauce, as is customary. My sister reported that she liked her sandwich and my brother said his burger was average at best. Our bill came to around $60 to which my father added a $7 tip. This is a man whose usual tip is, be a better waitress, so the seven dollars was more than generous for him. I personally would not have even gave that much, beings that the service was barely passable (forgotten drinks, straws, slow to refill water, slow in bringing extra sauce, ect.). After we paid and gave the tip, our waitresses demeanor physically changed. She went from chipper and upbeat (regardless of how fake it was) to cold…and I mean cold. Thats enough to make a guy sorry for tipping. The food was just average and not worth the money. The service was poor. Dont bother giving em a taste.
Staff is nice, but food is bad half the time. Sometimes the food comes out OK, but often the meal I get is stone cold by the time it arrives. I went there with the tonight with a party of 6, and three of the meals weren’t edible. The two Caesar salads looked like they were made this morning – wilted lettuce and soggy croutons. The kids burger was cooked to the point of being a hockey puck. But another burger (non-kids) was great, and my mom liked her meal. They took the items off the ticket, but it would be nice if they could serve good food, because they aren’t that many family style restaurants in Corvallis.
Dissapointed. Sunday evening, group of four. The first dissapointment was the dinning area floor. There was alot of food debris. The place was not packed so I would think that managment could keep areas unoccupied long enough to run a seeper over the floor areas.Appetizer: Raw oysters. They were good but then they were not cooked, so kinda hard to mess that up.One ordered ribs and said they were good. One ordered fish and was dissapointed, said it tasted different then expected. May have been the spices. One ordered deep fried shrimp and liked them. I liked them too.I ordered razor clams. I assumed they were fresh as they were exclusive to that’s evening menu, but I think they were a heat and eat item. Too much breading which was burned and retained too much oil.Three ordered the cole slaw, which was good.I had a dinner salad with blue cheese dressing. The salad itself was nice, but the dressing was flavorless, thin as milk, and I did’nt see any pieces of cheese.Management needs to step up.
A chain fish house. Many, many, many of these. The food is OK. Nothing special. Prices in line with the genre.I’ve had a few disappointing dishes, but for the most part, everything is OK.
Great Food medium price. Premium fish, nice atmosphere and priced right.
Four of us ate at Mc Graths Fish House after an OSU football game. Great food all around the table. We also saw many other Beaver fans filling up the restaurant. Looks like we are a part of a local secret now Good food, large variety, have a great time. We did.
