Best Sushi I’ve Ever Had. Sada’s is a great restaurant with the best sushi I’ve ever had, which I’ve eaten at many sushi restaurants. Theirs just tastes better all around, and their prices are very affordable. They are very friendly there, and always are happy to make adjustments to their sushi rolls for me because of my food allergies. They also have gluten-free on their menu and are very aware of that issue. I’ve never had an adverse reaction from eating there, which I cannot say of many other places that say they are gluten-free. Their staff is always very friendly, and it’s nicely decorated, the ambiance has a very nice, cozy and comfortable feel, with booths that feel private and a lovely wood sushi bar to sit at, as well as a private room for groups who may want that. Give them a try, you’ll be glad you did!

Good but pricey.. In a converted basement of an office building the decor is just what this Anglo imagines an ersatz Japanese restaurant should look like, sans the paper partitions. Lots of bamboo and it even has an elevated area with a low table which gives the diners the illusion of sitting on the floor when, in fact their legs are in a pit-like recess under the table. Makes for the mood without the discomfort. We were seated by our young raspberry coiffed hostess. Her hair color was striking but certainly not imparted by nature. Our server seemed very much Japanese in appearance and manor. We also took it as a good omen that most of the patrons were Asian. SWMBO had a lunch special Bento Box which contained 2 Tempura Battered Shrimp, 3 Tempura Battered Vegetables and Tofu Steak. It was accompanied by a cup of very good Miso Soup. I had Nabeyaki Udon; Chicken, Egg, Vegetables and plump, chewy Udon Noodles Hot Pot. The total pre-cumshaw ticket total was $26.90, which is pushing our envelope for lunch. The place was comfortable. The food was good. The service was charming. But I felt the food total should have come in under the double-sawbuck mark.

Excellent. I highly recommend Sada Sushi. Best sushi in Corvallis by far. The specials were amazing. The wait staff very friendly. Great experience!

Strange and disappointing. I’ve traveled extensively in Japan, and frequent Japanese restaurants all over the US. I was looking forward to another addition to the limited Corvallis restaurant scene. It is a pity this slightly pretentious place has replaced Terzo, which was quite a decent Italian restaurant. Tonight’s somewhat overpriced Bento was the worst Japanese meal I’ve ever had. Even the rice was overcooked; the tofu steak was inedible, the vegetable tempura a small, limited selection, and who in the world would want a flan with a pile of whipped cream as part of a dinner Bento? Especially for a vegan meal? It was bizarre to say the least. Hopefully this place will have a short life; it is in too valuable a restaurant space to be filled with poor cooking skills and disultory waitstaff.

Authentic and Delicious Japanese Food. This is a truly authentic Japanese restaurant. The food is very delicious and they have a great selection. I have been there three times and tried different menu items each time. Nothing I’ve eaten there has disappointed me. Of the three main Japanese restaurants downtown, Sada’s, Tokyo Steakhouse, and Aomatsu, I consider this to be the most authentic. If you want Japanese food as close as you can get it to actually being served it in Japan, this is the place to go.

Excellent. Sada Sushi & Izakaya is the real thing. We’ve eaten at the Corvallis location at least once a week and often twice a week since they opened here this summer. EVERYTHING we’ve ordered has been fresh, authentic, beautifully prepared, delicious, and graciously served. It is my favorite restaurant in town. For years we would go to Seal Rock where Sada was the Sushi Chef and then to Newport where he opened his own restaurant. We are thrilled that he is now making sushi in Corvallis.

Food was Terrible. I was truly disappointed by this place. The sushi came with wasabi in it, the nigiri fish was dry and old looking, the miso dressing has way to much vinegar, the chicken was dry, there were no boats to put the soy sauce in for dipping, and the potstickers were crunchy on the edges from what looked like freezer burn. If you enjoy sushi avoid this place. There is much better sushi in town at a better price.
