Not worth the wait. Sharon’s is fine. The food is about on par with other good breakfast places. However, every time I have eaten there, there’s been at least a 45-minute wait for food (from when you are seated). In fairness, they do warn customers of this fact. However, the food would have to be amazing for it to be worth waiting 45 minutes (or more), and it’s just … not. It’s fine. That’s about it. Maybe have fewer tables, or more line cooks; but a 45-minute wait for food is not OK.
Hands down the BEST breakfast in the Willamette Valley!! Everything is made from scratch, nothing frozen here! The country gravy is some of the best that I have ever eaten! BIG PORTIONS! Sharon and her AWESOME Daughter took care of us like we were family! Duck or Beaver, everyone is welcome at Sharon’s!!!
Facelift Without the Foodlift. Sharons has had a significant facelift since the last time I rolled through (about 5 years ago). Corvallis doesnt really have a lot of breakfast spots; not counting bakeries and such. This little botheration left me no real choice other than Sharons (unless I wanted to go to place Ive already reviewed)The old cow decorations have been tossed out and a partition wall knocked down; opening up the restaurant and making plenty of seating and room for new decorations. I decided to order one of the skillets (#3- Ham, green onion, bell peppers and cheese) with home fries replacing the shredded hash browns. My girlyfriend followed suit and ordered the #4 which simply replaces the ham for bacon bits. Our meals arrived and I was disappointed before we had even begun digging in. Expecting the standard seasoned wedged style home fries that everyone else on planet earth serves, I was shocked to see thinly sliced scalloped potatoes minus the best part of scalloped potatoes…the cheese sauce. My love and I agreed that both skillets were unspectacular and grossly under seasoned. For the price tag, about $9 each, there are much better meals to be had and other places. Dont bother giving them a taste.
Had high expectations due to reviews but Sharon’s was okay. Food portions were big and price was good. The biscuits and gravy had a weird spice (sage?) in it. I asked for over medium eggs and got over easy. Sausage and hash browns were good. Overall it was a 6 out of 10
The eggs and hash browns were amazing!
It definitely had some warts!. The place is oppressively windowless. Its a typical roadside diner with booths, tables and stools at a counter set up much as diners have been since beyond memory. The condiment containers and salt and pepper shakers were spotless. Not so the table top in our booth. Evidence of prior diners were Jelly smears and dried Coffee puddles which a cursory wipe-down should have eliminated. My bride ordered Scrambled Egg Beaters, a dry English Muffin and a cup of Decaf. (Always the adventuresome glutton that girl.) I asked our young server if the Burger Patties were fresh ground. She responded that they were hand formed. I asked again if they were fresh ground. She said they were. I was a little spooked by her responses and the manner in which they were given. I then ordered a Reuben, with specific instructions to drain the Sauerkraut and place it between the Corned Beef and Swiss Cheese, and a Garden Salad for my side. Just before she turned away, she asked how I wanted my Burger cooked. In the same breath with which I ordered, I reminded her that I was having a Reuben. (Not a good sign.)She brought me a glass of Water and Carols Decaf, which was good. Our meals arrived and sure enough, my Kraut was shmooshed against one of the Bread Slices rendering it soggy! I will say that the ingredients were good quality and could have been a first rate sandwich had it not been thusly ruined! On her next pass I asked our server if she had relayed my instructions to the cook. She assured me she had. I took her at her word (and tipped her), but if she instructed the cook, she did it verbally as the order pad receipt said simply Reuben. I told her that had I not asked it would have resulted in the loss of her tip and that I’d leave it up to her whether or not to talk to the cook about it.By way of possible explanation, though not excuse, we did learn, just minutes after we ordered at 1:20 PM that they close at 1:30. I must wonder if our experience might have been much better had we arrived an hour earlier. The 95% approval rating suggests that we might have. Im giving Sharons an I like it vote on the strength of that logic.
Favorite Plance in Town!. Great food and service. I also enjoy the atmosphere! Can be busy at times, but worth it! If you are traveling through or you live in town you should definitely go!
