Interesting place with really good sandwiches. Archies is best described as an eclectic mix of a sea of antiques surrounding a few tables where really good sandwiches are served. The first thing that struck me, after finding my way to the counter to order, was that the coffee is always free! Even if you don’t order any food. What a nice thing! The coffee was above average restaurant coffee. That is to say it wasn’t great, but it was pleasant enough that i finished my cup.I ordered the reuben with chips. The sandwich was ample and tasty. The bread was certainly the highlight. I would like to know where they get their bread as it was full of flavor and quite robust. Interestingly, I’m reasonably sure that the meat on the reuben was roast beef instead of corned beef. Odd, but still quite tasty. IT had lots of sauerkraut and plentiful sauce. I would order it again.Archie’s is a nice small town cafe with good sandwiches. I would eat there again next time I’m in Dayton.
