Hurray!. WOW! We knew the view would be spectacular, we knew it would be spendy; what I did not expect was that the food would be so wonderful! The steaks were as ordered, the sides elegant but not overly sophisticated, the daily special (a white salmon) was perfect and the duck (which looked a tad small) was AMAZING! The service was warm and pleasant, the drinks made with care, the desserts (trio of creme brulee and another of the hazenut mousse) was flavorful and lovely. Impressed and happy! GREAT STAFF!!!
Black Butte Lodge. We had dinner at the Black Butte lodge a week ago. The view is spectacular and the food was ok. The problem was the obnoxious attitude of the waitress. She really needs to be trained. She was abrupt and condescending when we were looking at the menu. Trying to rush us into a decision.
Easy, hospitable elegance. First, the setting is beautiful and the service is friendly and accessibly sophisticated. Second, everything we had was excellent. Particular highlights were the chef’s sampling platter (hazelnut pate, sweatbreads with chick pea flour, etc), the elk loin, and the house-special sourdough chocolate cake. It was a great meal, and a great choice for an important family event (a large relaxing dinner). Definitely exceeds expectations and has a comfortable, easy vibe without sacrificing class or tasty food. Highly recommended.
Beautiful and Delicious!. We loved our deck dinner looking out of the lake and mountains. It was the perfect setting for our anniversary dinner. The food was amazing and the service wonderful. Five stars!
Steve Pinza. Have been going to the Lodge at Black Butte ranch for only four years but have noticed significent improvements in food quality in that short time. It is always nice when atmosphere, service and quality food combine to create a special dining experience. Most recently dined with a group of eight. Appetizers, entrees and desserts were all spot on. Great to have this dining option just outside of Bend.
No wheelchair access. When I saw the ramp to the door I was hopeful, but that soon faded. The restaurant is on multiple levels, with stairs up and down. Our party of 3 took our wallets elsewhere.I will say that the views from the parking lot are spectacular, so I am guessing the dining room has great views.
Great Experience. We had a great all around experience at the Lodge. From the appetizers to the main entree and even dessert were all exceptional. I had the calamari appetizer along with the New York strip (perfectly cooked) followed by the chocolate cake for dessert. Very satisfied and all expectations met. Great Job!!!
