I ordered the fried chicken, it was OK, lots of salt, not many flavor profiles above just salt, I like the fact it didn’t have bones. The experience was OK. I would like to try it again, so far kind of one dimensional.
Where was the food? 2nd time. Last time. We were seated quick, waiters really were let down by their cook team and took many hits from patrons waiting for food 40 plus minutes, first time we were disappointed, gave it a second chance and experienced the same feeling of helplessness. Longer we waited the more we were sure we put the time in and the food was on the way, any way don’t fall for that thought, get up and walk! Saw parent feeding wrestles children jelly from the condiments. I looked around and it was zombie stares every where. It would be easy to fix the problem I’d be happy to spend the day with management and show them the root causing disappointed customers.
Well done. We had breakfast at the Kozy Kitchen about 6 weeks ago and enjoyed it, so came back on Sunday 3/1/15 and my daughter ordered an omelet and I the steak and eggs. Both enjoyed our meal very much. I asked for the steak to be medium rare, the eggs over medium, the sour dough bread to be well done. Every thing was cooked to perfection, the decaf coffee was served with my meal as asked and it was hot! I couldn’t have asked for a nicer meal. My daughter found her omelet tasty as well. My advice is to give this place try and see for yourself. I notice all the bad reports are from a year or so ago.
Food is good, atmosphere is family friendly & cozy, very affordable!. Went here on a date. Loved the quiet peaceful cozy atmosphere and the food was yummy. It was also quite affordable and they have an excellent selection of half orders and lighter side dinners which I greatly appreciate 🙂 Highly recommend.
Never got our food. Went there to have breakfast, our inexperienced waiter never brought us our water nor did remember to ask how we wanted our eggs cooked. 25 min after ordering our breakfast we asked our waiter how much longer it would be for our food. He told us due to a large party it would be another 20 minutes. We did not see what ever large party he was talking about, plus he offered to let us know how he did not know why they even took large groups. Since we did not want to wait 45 min for breakfast we left. No manager to apologize…..
Slow Responce. Waited for several minutes for person to come and take our order-(he was talking and laughing with cook)food was okwaited for bill but finally had to get up and go to register — waited (again person was in talking to cook) the lady working had to go and tell him that we were waiting to pay and 2 other groups were waiting to be seated. Was a little disappointed in service.
It could be so much more.. Always looking for another good breakfast place in Eugene, especially is this area. Have tried the Kozy Kitchen four times now and have been disappointed each time. We have tried them for breakfast (2), lunch and dinner. At first I was thinking they were still working out the kinks but after four attempts I have to think there is a disconnect somewhere. The food is not consistent from plate to plate. One dish comes out hot and ready to go and the other is luke warm like it was sitting in a warming station. The staff varies from constantly hovering to almost no attention at all. They have an open side room on the south side of the dining area that is apparently used for a staff break area. On three of the four visits, they seemed to use it as a place to relax and chat and to roll silverware in napkins. It is tough to feel like you are getting even mediocre service when your waiter/waitress is hanging out in this room and you are looking for a refill or to place a dessert order. Portions are huge and a little over the top. Give them a try, just don’t expect friendly, consistent service and great food.
