Great drinks, very good food and nice service. Also one of the few places in Portland you can go when dressed to the nines and not get strange looks. It is a very romantic spot so a little awkward if not on a date.
Spendy but tasty. While staying at the Hotel Deluxe we knew we had to try their bar, the Driftwood Room, which came well-recommended. We headed down just as the late-night happy hour was beginning and got the last table in the tiny place. It was quite dark but still charming, and the staff was on top of their game. Nice service. I was shocked when we opened the menu and all the drinks were between $10 – $15. Thank goodness for happy hour: $5 champagne cocktails and cheap food from Gracie’s. The food was delicious but the champagne cocktails were room temperature at best. I wish they’d been cold enough to really sing… the flavor combinations were inventive and interesting.
I liked the cozy atmosphere of the Driftwood Room very much. Very nice for a 2 or 3 people. Don’t bring a group, though.I was very appreciative that they have a fun non-alcoholic drink menu – when you are a pregnant woman who still wants to have drinks with her friends it is very nice to have something other than lemonade!
Intimate, elegant, and friendly. Driftwood was quite lovely. I went with a friend for happy hour and we were impressed with the vast food options at good prices and the creative cocktail mixes. Staff were attentive and friendly. We ordered the Mac n’ cheese, fried oysters, sizzling mushrooms, and chicken chowder, with the Hot Spiced drink and Goldfinger (ginger laced champagne), and were pleased with all. I’m definitely going again. Great place for a date!
