I’ve never had breakfast at an Asian restaurant but decided to try this place out. We were pleasantly surprised at how delicious the American breakfast was The omelete was great and the pancake was one of the best I’ve ever had!
Pinching pennies. I really liked Toast and Pho for the first several months they were open! I loved getting Pho to go, however last time I went, I was disapointed by a watered down, flavorless broth, and teriyaki sauce instead of their amazing ginger sauce. It is obvious that they are trying to pinch pennies by using less quality ingredients. I will not be back.
Not Worth It. Finally got in to try this place, and I’m nonplussed. It’s not…bad. But it’s not great. Mediocre food for a higher than average price. The ingredients aren’t quality and far from fresh. I got the P3 (pho with several of the beef options) and A1 (salad rolls). The basil that came with the soup was wilted and had brown splotches, the meat appeared to have been picked from the lunch meat section at Fred Meyer next door, and the salad rolls had obviously been sitting for a while. Overall decent flavors, but not worth the money. There is better pho to be had elsewhere. The service was minimal and borderline unfriendly. Too bad, I liked the prospect of running across the street for it.
Very good!!!. Great pho bowl, authentic flavor, lots of very fresh vegis on the side. I’m craving more as I write. A wonderful addition to the neighborhood. The family running it seem are so nice and eager to please.
Yay, a pho restaurant on NW 21st. I’ve been to Toast & Pho 4 times now. Each time I’ve had the pleasure of trying something new. I think what brings me back is not just the food, but the friendly host. I noticed that he remembers faces and sometimes even recall names. He has plenty of stories to tell about the food and certain recipes. I hope Toast & Pho is here to stay. It is so convenient to be able to walk down the street and grab some Vietnamese food.
Best Pho in PDX. I’ve not been very happy with the Pho in PDX (maybe I’m spoiled since my wife is Vietnamese, and have had the home cooked variety), and the west side lacks pho places anyways, but the pho at Toast and Pho was very good. They also had Bo Kho (beef stew) which was very tender.
