WOW! First, this is mostly a reservation only kind of place and we didn’t have one, but it was early (5:30-6p) so it was not an issue. The specials sounded like they were straight out of movie (Pn seared duck, Panko crusted halibut with hollandaise, etc). The atmosphere was NY Rat Pack (if you’re 40+ you’ll love it). Our waiter Frankie was great. The presentation of the food wasn’t as good as the food itself (knocked it down a star for that) but THE FOOD IS AMAZING!!! I had a ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce that I was reluctant to share with my husband (it was THAT good). It was cocked perfectly (med rare) and came with a side of garlic mashed potatoes (gotta tell you that I LOVE potatoes but didn’t even touch them until I was done with my steak). My husband had the duck (D-LISH-US), my mother in law had the halibut and my father in law the salmon (they all RAVED about their dishes).

Owner needs to remember where he is. Worse experience ever. We came in from out of state for a family reunion. My sister in law, who is a local, made reservations well in advance (also reserved lobsters). 9 out of our party of 10 had the lobsters, all of them were like mashed potatoes. When we told the waiter about them he acted surprised. Yet he is the one that removed them from the shell table side. When we asked him to return them he took the entire plate. Leaving 2 people without anything, as they ordered lobster only and a couple he at least thought to put the meat on the appetizer plate, yet took the potatoes. The owner was soooo RUDE, did not even come out to the table to apologize. After all was said and done, he reduced the bill to remove the cost of lobster even though complete meals were taken away (after at least a half hour of my sister in law talking with him in the back. That was even like pulling teeth.) We all left hungry. This man needs to learn a thing or two about customer service. In a small town like Grants Pass I don’t see him lasting much longer. We will not be returning when we visit, as well as the 4 locals.
Not mention they did not even care. The high price does not match the quality of service and the food is subpar. Save yourself alot money and eat somewhere else. Not worth your time.01 Jun, 2013Well they almost sent my wife to the ER. We told the waitress she has an alergy to nuts earlier. When we ordered dessert we commented in front of her that we could not share the bananas foster becuase it contained nuts. So she got the cheese cake instead. She ate 2 bits then offered me a bit. To my shock i tasted nuts in that bit. As i was about to tell her her tongue started to swell.
There is no place to park. No actual reserve parking for the restaraunt. Service was subpar and the food was even worse. The French onion soup was very bland and they used the same bread that they served on the table in the soup. Boooooo. An expensive lesson.
