We had the Halibut Tacos $17.95 which were surprisingly good. I am very particular about them. 3 tacos all good size. The rice not so good. My wife hade the Prime Rib Dip $16.95 which were very good just melted in your mouth. The fries were ok. The staff was friendly and the food came fast. Stopes to wait out Portland traffic before going home to Salem.

Had intended to spend a special meal with 4 generations at your Jantzen Beach Stanfords restaurant on Saturday, Nov. 15th. My daughter, 10 year old granddaughter and her little friend came 75 miles to meet my 88 year old mother at our reservation time of 12:30pm. We were seated right away and received menus. Took a bit longer than most places to have our waiter show up to get our drink order, but he turned out to be very nice and quite attentive until he was tipped. Prices were a bit alarming, but our hope was that the food would be so good we wouldnt care that wasnt the case. Our 5 finished dishes came at 3 different times instead of all at once. So those who were served first had their food sit getting cold as we waited for the all the dishes to finally arrive over a several minute period. My daughter had the special Pumpkin Seed-Pesto Crusted Halibut & Prawns. The dish was 95% vegetables and rice and a $2.00 piece of halibut all for the outrageous price of $25! My granddaughter and her friends ordered Linguine Alfredo off the Kids Menu. They got greasy buttered noodles no Alfredo. They were also to receive grapes & a sundae which they didnt. AND we were charged for their drinks which suppose to be included in the $7 price. My patty melt didnt even come close to the taste of a local pubs fare and they only charge $8. My mom was drinking decaf and after our meal the waiter came and took her cup which was half full of coffee to say he would bring her another fresh cup we never saw him again, so she didnt get to even finish her whole cup of coffee. Have you figured out by now well never waste our time ever returning to any of your Stanfords and will be sure to tell anyone we can not to waste their money?

Nothing Amazing but Decent Food. I sort of got drug to this Stanford’s location. I’d only ever eaten at the Clackamas one and only vaguely remembered it. I ordered the Halibut Fish n’ Chips. The wait staff were friendly and helpful. The food didn’t take forever, which was nice. When it came out, what I received was a decent version of Halibut fish n’ chips that I’d grade as a solid C+. I wasn’t highly impressed, though I wasn’t disappointed either. All in all it’s an okay place to eat at Jantzen Beach. Update: Some modifications following a family dinner on Father’s Day 2012. When eating with the whole family, there is something we always need to watch for. Both of my nephews have food allergies, one of them has a severe food allergy to both eggs and peanuts. If he even touches residue that wasn’t cleaned thoroughly it’s requires an epi-pen and ER visit. When my sister asked the waiter about getting an ingrediant list due to the allergies, to his credit, he tried to be very helpful and immeidately went and got the manager in an attempt get the info. That is where things went bad. The manager came over and immediately had a really bad attitude and stated that they didn’t know what was in their food. She refused to see if they had an ingredients list for items on the children’s menu and acted as if we were being unreasonable for even asking. Clearly there needs to be some management changes or re-training, but seeing as there is quite a few people with food allergies, you would think at minimum they’d want to have the info available from a liability stand point. While they have decent food, if you or anyone in your party has a food allergy, avoid them completely. There are plenty of better places in the Portland/Vancouver area with better customer service that also have allergy information available.
