This place is great! Food was good, service was fast and friendly. They are open late, and have many different types of food to choose from. They have steak to fish tacos, in a elegant yet casual atmosphere. Was very pleased hope to return again…
Okay. Cute place. Nice server. Good beer. The fish tacos were fairly tastey. Not much to choose from on the lunch menu I guess. The calamari salad was completely bland. Tasteless calamari sitting on a tasteless bed of cabbage.
This place was incredible. Late dinner after skiing. Elk meatloaf, perfect salad and best Manhattan ever. Serious winner here.
Don’t get the calamari appetizer. It’s the worst i’ve ever had. It was primarily fried batter with extremely small calamari lost inside. It looked great mounded on the plate until I tried to find the calamari.
Our final visit to Brian’s. We have family in Hood River, and visit a couple of times a year. In the past we have had really good meals, and service, at Brian’s. However, the past two visits we’ve been disappointed. Last night, we were there as a party of 7 people. Our waitress was snobby, and took forever – we were not in a hurry but when you order a drink it seems fair to expect it within 15 minutes (it seemed like she knew she had the house-added 18% gratuity coming, and so didn’t need to worry about pleasing us). The ceiling fan was on at hi speed, even though it had cooled off to 69 degrees outside, blowing directly down on my wife’s back and forcing her to keep her jacket on throughout the evening. The salmon I ordered was cooked perfectly, but came only luke warm. The squash that accompanied the fish was actually cold and limp, almost certainly cooked long before we placed our orders (probably back when we ordered our first round of drinks!). The calamari was average in taste, and heavy with a deep fried coating. Two different salads were good but not great. And although we had an early dinner (shortly after they opened for dinner) they ran out of one of the desserts. For other out-of-towners who might guess a ‘pourhouse’ has a good selection of beers, don’t be fooled – they have 3-4 types, and only one brewery of each. Brian’s used to be such a good place to eat, but they appear to be resting on their laurels now. This family won’t be back.
Yum. Food was very good, from the polenta stick appetizers to the flank steak and the duck/sausage pasta. Be forewarned: The servings are HUGE!!! Even the beet/spinach salad.
This place is fantastic! We come here whenever we go to Hood River & sometime we go to Hood River just so we can eat here. Cocktails are top notch & the food is even better! Fish tacos are one of my favorites, along with seasonal specials like Butternut Squash gnocci & seriously good soups & salads. I can’t even fathom how this place has less than a 100% rating. I’m a foodie & have the extra pounds to prove it. This place is great!
