Disappointing dinner. Considering the nice atmosphere and good service, we were very surprised that our dinner was so disappointing. The fish was deep fried too long, the brown batter seemed to be some not very tasty breadcrumbs and the cole slaw was served in a tiny dish, same size as the sauce remoulade. Even the cocktail was on the weak side. It’s unfortunate that a lovely place like this does not serve a better quality of food.
Review for 3 Rivers Grill. We had dinner there tonight. Ordered the artichoke and spinach dip. Worst dip ever. No taste. Bland. Hazelnut chicken ok. Potatoes, hard and not warm, no flavor, bland. Vegetables not edible. Bland. Please dont waste your money.
Food mediocre and overpriced, service mediocre, better views elsewhere. Pros: The view is lovely however there are telephone lines and some big trees so not every seat has a good view. The indoor area has large windows that look out onto the large veranda. The veranda has outdoor seating that wraps around two sides of the building. The view does not make up for the low quality of the food. There are plenty of parks and places to see the view of the river for free.Cons:Dinner was extremely overpriced given the quality of food. Dinner for two was $75 for 2 entrees, a salad, a soup and one glass of house wine. (including tip) Beet salad rating is a 2: It had a generous amount of fresh beets on a sparse amount of nicely complimentary greens. The two slices of mandarin oranges were from a can. The dressing, if there was one, added no flavor at all. The goat cheese balls were not quite as big as jawbreakers and were rolled in so many chopped nuts that the balls that there was no cheese flavor. Carrot soup rating is a 4. It was a thick puree and arrived only warm. The flavor was complex and very tasty.Seared Tuna rating is a 2: The tuna was a moderate proportion and nicely done. It was sliced and leaned against a pointed mound of mashed potatoes. Bright green seaweed shreds topped it. It sat in a POOL of fiery wasabi that covered the plate. The seaweed was inedible. The mashed potatoes were so-so. It was served with fresh green beans (roasted) and carrot medallions. The half of the potatoes and veggies that were not touching the pool of wasabi were nice. Wasabi should have been served in it’s own dish or as a dollop. It did not compliment the vegetables, to say the least.Razor clams rating is 3. The two clams were large and were coated with panko crumbs. It would have been nice if they had stayed crispy but they were made soggy (by covering the plate to keep it warm?). Flavor of clams was nice but they could have been tenderized a bit so they weren’t as chewy. Breading did not have any special flavor. The rice had dried out crunch bits in it. It was plump, soft plain white rice with a nice buttery flavor. The green beans were roasted, fresh. The fresh carrot medallions were boiled aldente.Service was mediocre. Our inexperienced server was mechanical through the meal, not friendly or welcoming. She did not check back to see if partner wanted more wine. Our food arrived in a timely manner, however, we did have to call another server to get our check taken. The exceptionally clean glass outdoor tables are adequate in size and come with metal mesh chairs. Blankets are available on request. The restaurant is on a very steep hill and has steep stairs leading up to it. I did not see wheel chair access. There was only one bathroom for only one woman at a time for a large restaurant.
Not recommended. We chose the Three Rivers Grille for dining on my wife’s birthday. It was our first time there. The waitress brought us the menu, took our order, and very quickly delivered the food. Unfortunately the soup, which we had very carefully requested to be hot, was not. The waitress did not reappear to enable us to ask for the soup to be heated. When we were done, no one on the staff was visible. After a wait, we left payment and a tip (we are both courteous and generous) and vowed to ourselves never to return. Definitely not recommended
Not My Fave. Very expensive for something that tasted like I could have made it better at home. Our server must have been having a bad day, because she seemed pretty grouchy too.
Would definitely not recommend. Nothing about this experience was memorable. Food was bad, service was so-so and the atmosphere is awkward.
Great view, very sketchy service, nice outside deck. Good food, good cheap house wine by glass. Did I say service sucks??? Only one waitress at lunch.
