AMAZING! Ladies night is my favorite night!. Me and the ladies like to go to Arena on Thursday nights with their $4 absolut martinis! They have an amazing selection of martinis. I am all about the Lady Crocodile that has Jger inside, delicious!!THEN THERES THE WINGS!Boned or boneless is up to you but they have a tremendous selection of wing flazors! Personally I am most partial to the Samurai flavor, best one I have tried. I also am incredibly in love with Bills Buffalo sauce. SO GOOD!The wings and the drinks are amazing. The service is excellent and I will come back anytime someone wants to go. Mondays the wings are half off so if you want to give them a try go on Monday! You won’t be disappointed.
40 Flavors of Wing Sauce!. The Arena Sports Bar & Grill is right on Main street in one of my favorite little mid-valley towns. Steeped in history as one of the first river front hamlets on the Willamette, Independence has a lot of 19th century charm in its architecture. Arena is a dive in the best sense of the word. I could have done without the jukebox, but when you eat in a bar, that’s just part of the deal.I love Chicken Wings. But today Arena’s Halibut Fish & Chips and a Brew for $13.50 was just too tempting to pass up. Three lightly battered Filets and a ton of Steak Fries (Which are nearly impossible to get crispy), two big Lemon Wedges and Lemony Tartar Sauce were provided. I chose a pounder of Flat Tire Ale to wash it all down and I was ready to rock ‘n roll. The gnawing fear I always have when I order Fish & Chips is that the Fish will be greasy. Happily, such was not the case here. They had some interesting looking Burgers on the menu also. The gent that served me said that although they are not fresh ground, they are very lean an high quality. One will be my next project here, right after an enthusiastic Chicken Wing escapade. On a scale of 1 to 5, Arena gets a 4. Crispy Shoestring Fries would put them over the top!
Wings! Great neighborhood spot. Wings cooked to order, so be patient…they are well worth the wait. Seems like there may be a new cook – last time I went in they weren’t as crispy as they usually are. Would be wise to ask that they be kept in the frier a bit longer when you order.
