  Love this place…..Classic road-side stop! Craft Beer, dog friendly, fire pits…. What’s not to love about Mecanico? The setting on the park with great views, the relaxed atmosphere, the outdoor games and fire pits, and the local craft beer make this ther perfect little road-side stop. It’s an old 1955 vintage gas station turned into a PUB!01 Nov, 2014Very cool, very chill….dog friendly, great views, old 1950’s gas station restored as PUB!. This is definitely a cool place to check out. I’ll be back for sure and bring friends. Great local craft beers on draft, and some delicious quesadilla’s and my friend had nachos, and both were completely gone in no time!!Keep up the good work, Mecanico. We’ll be back soon!

  Intriguing. I stopped into Mecanico with friends this weekend. It’s primarily a fun place for beer. We were there for lunch. The lunch menu is quite limited. I had a Quesadilla and added chicken and jalapenos. It was tasty but unremarkable.Interestingly, we ordered coffee. The server seemed quite perplexed. They offer only French Press – which I initially thought would be fantastic. Not so much. They only have 1 press for the entire place. So 5 of us shared it. It took the server quite a long time to get the coffee brewing (we got our food first!). Apparently she thought she hadn’t put in enough coffee as she brought additional ground beans for us to put in the press after it was brewing. The first press didn’t even fill our cups one time. So we asked for more. She brought us a pitcher of hot water. I explained that we couldn’t re-use the grounds…. So you get the idea.Go here for beer. The selection looked great. Not really a coffee joint. The space is an old gas station which offered a unique atmosphere. Skip the restroom – you enter from the outside and the door doesn’t really close and you could hear all the conversations occurring in the dining area.Despite all this, I still enjoyed myself and would go back. Just not for coffee.

  Small town fourth of july. This is what the fourth of July is all about. Small town USA. Parade, carnival and music in the park. Great fireworks–I mean spectacular! And Mecanico is right in the midst of all the activity. The renovated mechanics/gas station turned beer pub sits next to the park, and serves a variety of local craft beers. The staff is friendly and there is a simple menu of good food. There is a record player with a large selection of old vinyl to find an oldie but goodie to play, corn hole toss, large outdoor chess/checker board, and multiple fire pits to cozy up to at night. i’ll be back to enjoy the fun community atmosphere and a cold one.

  Not great…. Having experienced the hospitality of Independence before I was quite excited to try out this place…..wish I had not bothered. The pouring staff were sullen and disinterested and there was a commotion due to the lack of parking space outside allegedly occupied by staff??!!! I always thought customers came 1st….swerve this place…
