Good gluten free options! Tasty buns for my sandwich and I was able to buy some to take away. Also tried a gluten free version of a German coffee cake with blackberries that was divine. I think our baker/server is much more into the baking than the serving, but what a baker! Bravo!

A favorite!. A friend and I stopped at Ovenbird today. What a great place!I had a great turkey sandwich in baked-fresh bakery sourdough for $4. Seriously – where can you get a sandwich like that for four bucks?I also had a Bavarian Creme fruit cup with fresh local berries that was amazing. And the topper was a to-die-for Chocolate Cream Cheese Danish. We split it. But seriously, it’s the best pastry I’ve ever tasted. The chocolate paired with the cream cheese on the most flaky danish adds up to a-mazing!!The service is super friendly and really fast. You can’t go wrong here.17 Mar, 2013Great find!. I stopped in at Ovenbird Bakery yesterday with friends. What a nice treat! It’s a great, very inexpensive bakery that also serves pocket pies, strata, quiche, etc.I opted for the gluten free, Andouille Sausage strata. It was delicious! I paired it with the Shrimp Bisque that was outstanding. The service was very friendly and quite fast.I will definitely be stopping by again for a light lunch or tasty pastry.

Croissants!!. I absolutely love their buttery croissants! They are really very good. I can’t say much about the other treats because every time I go there I can’t convince myself to eat anything else hardly though we have tried cinnamon rolls and a piece of quiche which I can’t say either were remarkable. One day my husband brought me home a truffle from there and it was quite yummy. If you want a good croissant though they are a great place to go!

Confusing. Some girlfriends and I decided to try out Ovenbird Bakery since we had never been there. We walked in and liked the feel of the place – small, cozy, quaint. There was one person ordering at the counter. The menu of offerings was quite confusing … there were only a couple low quality looking items in the case and a few loaves of bread in the window. We weren’t able to find any listings of what our food/drink options were. The worker never addressed us or smiled or said she’d be right with us – which was odd since there were 5 of us. We milled around trying to make sense of the bakery … but couldn’t … so we went across the street to another restaurant. If I happen to be walking by this bakery again in the future and something compells me to stop in, I will … otherwise I don’t think I will be going out of my way to visit again.

Fantastic food, AMAZING coffee, and friendly service. I’m surprised by the previous reviews and can only suspect that the reviewers haven’t had any experiences with casual, bakery dining such as you find at Ovenbird. The atmosphere is welcoming and homey. Orders are placed at the counter and taken to a table to enjoy. Brewed coffee, water, napkins, and utensils are neatly arranged on one end so that the diner can help themselves to whatever they may need. If you want spectacular, fresh, innovative, creative baked goods, the most amazing latte in America, or a killer sandwich-all at great prices- this is your place.

Horrible customer service. The woman that took my order needs a few lessons on customer service; she acted like she was doing me a favor taking me order. I tried to ask her a few questions about the business, she was unable or did not want to engage in conversation (we were the only people in the establishment). I wish I knew what her name was so I could add it into this review. Even my children notice her bad attitude. Food was good, not great. Maybe the horrible customer service left nasty taste in my mouth. I feel sorry for the owner; having someone like that taking orders is terrible for business.
