Excellent. My staff and I ordered lunch today from The Pink House and it was amazing! Everything was cooked perfectly and exactly how we ordered it. We ordered 5 separate meals, all with specific requests and it all was done correctly and the staff was kind an accommodating. I recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Just a good meal!. So the girlfriend has been wanting to go to The Pink House for some time and today I decided would be the day to take her. When we walked in we were greeted immediately and asked if we preferred inside or out. We were happy to have the air conditioning so opted in. The Pink House, is a older home converted in to a restaurant. It made for quite a cozy place. The rooms to eat in are small, but being the only people inside it was quite nice.We both ordered cream sodas, still trying to decide on lunch. It came out in a glass, but when I tried it, it seemed awfully familiar. Sure enough, later she brought out the Henry Weinhard bottles for us to refill our glasses. So if you order a cream soda, you now know what it is. Fine by me, I love them.In almost perfect timing, the waitress came back as soon as we made our minds up on food. I ordered the brats and apple kraut with a side of clam chowder and the girlfriend ordered the Rueben sandwich with a side salad. In 10-15 minutes our food arrived. The sausage was awesome (Oktoberfest), they provide a couple containers with a couple different style mustards, one a sweet honey mustard and the other is the type with the seeds in it (sorry can’t remember name). The sausages were served over two slices of tasty buttered rye bread. Good flavored rye bread and not the crummy stuff you often find in supermarkets. The kraut I didn’t realize when I ordered is served cold, so I was a little leery. However, the apple flavor to it makes a sweet delicious dish. I was quite surprised kraut could almost be a desert! Lastly, the clam chowder. It was pretty good with decent sized chunks in it. My only complain is I enjoy clam chowder the reeks of clams with lots of them in it!The star attraction was the Reuben my girlfriend ordered. Too many places try to get fancy or cut the good things out of a Rueben, but The Pink House knows how they should be made. It was on the same tasty rye bread that was on my plate. It had a nice sized helping of well seasoned corned beef, a nice layer of kraut, and just a little sauce! MMMMMMMMMM! It was tasty, she was kind enough to trade me a sausage for half of her sandwich! Her side salad looked nice too. The veggies looked fresh and crisp and the tomatoes had that deep red color one doesn’t get at a supermarket. Whatever oil and vinegar dressing they use, I wish I could get a hold of because it had a slight sweetness to it and was amazing.Almost immediately after finishing the waitress collected out plates and I asked about desert (I’m feeling like a stuffed piggy at this point). I order the blackberry cobbler and the girlfriend the rum cake.I really enjoyed the cobbler, many places like to sweeten cobblers which masks the flavor of the fruit, but not here. The girlfriend said her rum cake was nice and moist and didn’t have the rum-flavor flavor, but thinks they used actual rum in cooking.Promptly after the desert the waitress brought our check.Side note for the waitress, I could tell she was stressing trying to take care of everyone by herself. She was running around like crazy, but as soon as she got to the table she was polite and courteous. On top of that, she still gave us good service. Kudos to her!
Very nice experience. My little family of three just had a very nice experience dining at The Pink House. I was especially impressed that they noticed my 5 year old daughter enjoying the cucumbers from my salad, engaged her in conversation about it and followed up by bringing her a little bowel of cucumbers in addition to adding some to her meal when it arrived. 🙂 We will certainly be returning, bringing various grandparents with us as they come to visit.
My wife had the chicken caeser and I had biscuits and gravy. It doesn’t look super nice from the street, right across from a movie theater, but the food and staff are great. Ask to sit on the back patio.
The Pink House is amazing! Great food, customer service, food portions and reasonable prices. My favorite place to bring people.
Likely the best food in town. I eat here probably twice a month or so and they always deliver. There really isn’t an item on the menu that anyone could be disappointed with. Service is almost always really great (who doesn’t have an off day now and again?) and the prices are more than fair. To top it all off, Paul seems to be very interested in the community and generously donates gift certificates to many community fundraisers.
Loved it!. Very friendly and good food! eat there at least once a month–lots of locals go there.
