I am in the process of booking the holiday party at McNary Restaurant. We chose them last year as well and had a great time. We reserved the entire dining room and had a buffet set up. The only decorating we had to do were center pieces. The buffet had plenty of choices and we were able to keep our cost down to $25/person. We are excited to get our reservation with them again this year.
It has come full circle!. After a couple of resurrections, including one run at it as a well disguised BBQ place, it has pretty much become what it originally was. I don’t think of this as a bad thing as the original bested every subsequent iteration. It’s a typical golf course restaurant offering hearty American fare. The dcor has changed little over the decades. It’s clean and comfortable with a wall of windows overlooking the patio and golf course.SWMBO had Crab Cake Dinner (House Specialty) with seasoned Rice and steamed; Broccoli, Cabbage and Corn. She thought the Cakes were a bit mushy but had good flavor. She also had Cheddar Cheese and Broccoli Soup which I sampled. It could have been Cheesier and the Broccoli was mostly stalks. Carol rated both as good but not great. I had a Club Sandwich on Rye, sans the third toast slice, with Crispy French Fries. The ingredients were all first quality. The Meats were good Deli style Ham and Turkey. They use Marble Rye, which is not my favorite Rye Bread but was still OK. The Fries were fantastic! Very thin cut. Think regular Shoe Strings cut lengthwise in quarters and you’ve got it. They were deep fried to a golden crispness. Our server, Jasmine, told me they’re not cut in house. I neglected to ask her who their supplier is. She provided me with Ketchup and Malt Vinegar. (The Ketchup bottle mouth and lid could have used some attention.)Jasmine did a first rate job as our server. I’m glad to see this place open again under new management. It’s, once again exactly what it looks like and what one would expect it to be. Welcome back McNary Restaurant & Lounge!
